Home Audio receiver question
Home Audio receiver question
Well after my sisters bonehead boyfriend decided he wanted to come over and bowl on my Wii WITHOUT using the strap, I found my panasonic with a huge crack in the screen. Needless to say, I was not happy. So my tv was now done for. Well he finally went out and bought me the same TV just newer model. The problem is that this new tv doesn't have an audio out component for our surround sound. It's a Panasonic 50inch X1 series. I guess the next thing to do is upgrade our audio receiver to and HDMI receiver. My question is, is there anything else that I need to do to accomplish this besides buying the new receiver and another HDMI cable? All I should have to do is hook it up and then reconnect my old speakers to the new receiver correct? Thanks
my grandma wanted to buy me on a couple years ago...but i didnt want one cuz i thought it was gay...till i played one...now i want one..so if ole santy clause doesnt bring me one...ill have to get my own

The only time my Wii gets played is when we're drinking lol. We seem to end up playing rock band into the morning hours....

If so, the review mentions and pictures a Digital Audio Out, directly beside the HDMI inputs.
If it's not your TV, feel free to smack me around.

Wow....what kind of crap design dosnt suport an RCA Audio Out option. I guess like one of the others said, there has to be some form of converter. I know here in town there is an Electronics store (not a Frys, Best Buy or Radioshck deal) that has any and everything dealing with electronics you could want. I bet there is one in your city/town or close by. Also search the internet.
Ok.. Here is a picture of the back of the TV. I have AT&T u-verse and right now I have my surround sound connected from my stereo receiver to the U-verse box and the surround sound works. But, when I use the DVD player I have to unconnect it from the u-verse box and connect the audio cables to the DVD player so I can use the surround sound for it. I got this picture from the link about of the back of the tv. As you can see there is no audio out component on the back of the TV only audio in. I even tried using another set of RCA's and connected it on the audio out of the u-verse to the audio in on the tv and still nothing. I'm just trying to make it to where the surround sound is universal and I don't have to keep connecting and disconnecting everytime I change sources. Here's a picture let me know what yall think.
