I've also been reading about the Administration's new education initiative "Race to the Top"

Looks good in the media, but I just saw a draft of the Memorandum of Understanding that educational organizations will have to sign before dipping into the billions of dollars available. Looks to me like another level of beaurocracy and a means to control education at the local levels.
It's definitely the carrot and the stick, most educational systems can't afford to turn down 1 or 2 million per year. Many will consider "selling" their soul to get the dollars. ****** shudder*******

 

Arnt we all supose to be on the same team. When is he going to stop pointing fingers and do something constructive? He's supose to be the President but he's to busy acting like a pop culture a$$ hat. He reminds me of some people here at work....all day they run around trying to waste there 8 hrs making frineds and BS'ing, boss comes over ask where something is and they blame it on the next guy all the while maybe doing 45min of actuall work in an 8hr day. MAN UP!!!! Have some back bone and some pride!!!
