The reason we don't quite realize it is happening. We look at our thermometers and say,"Well it's cooler this year, than the last ten".
That can be a true statement. If fact it is happening that way.

But as the temperature rises at the poles, it sends cooler water into the ocean currents. Of course we know the Pacific equatorial currents control our climate in the USA. One example is the weather in Washington and Oregon. The marine climates there come from the warm waters at the equator.

In the mean time, the temp at the poles is rising enough to melt ice, thus putting that cold water in the Oceans. So in the instance of our west coast, you may see temps drop for about 10 years, as that cold water mixes with the warm and goes south. But eventually the currents will change completely.

Looking at historic models , over millions of years, instead of computer generated models of the future. You would see , when the currents change, over a long period of time . The poles will grow super cold once again.
Bringing another ice age.

My point, There is nothing we can do about it but adapt.

That was a good read.

However, it does point out that there are things we can do to reduce the effect of climate change. To throw your hands up in the air and say we are helpless to change our behavior is a loser's strategy.

Where I live people have a "can do" attitude when confronted with a challenge, especially one such as this with serious consequences.

 

But when something is completely beyond your control, don't you think it would be better to prepare for the inevitable, than to think you can change it?

 

So with Al Gore and all his cronnies in Denmark, with over a thousand limos and 150+ personal jets, to get these people around, how does that help "Climate Change"? It's all BS, just some way for some asshat to stuff more money in his pocket. Because if you ask the rich folk that believe in "Climate Change", why are you driving a Hummer, or why do you have all these personal jets, it's because "Were special and have to have these things, thats the way of our life. But the rest of you scum, middle class people need to change your ways"....

 

All they needed was more commercial flights to there. If these people were serious about the climate, they could have traveled that way, and still been separated from the rest of us scum. IMHO

 

Climate changes ALL the time since the world began and we are still here! For the system to work it has to have cycles beyond the four seasons. When I was a youngster (many moons ago) we were ALL going to die from the comming ice age, even Life magizine had in depth articles about it. The problem is that people take a trend in what is happening and extrapolate it way too far. Even the climate has limits that we have no controll over. If those limits are exceeded then we all die, nothing we can do about it! It's mankinds ego that makes him think he can controll things like weather, if you want to cut down on Co2 then stop breathing. Just remember that you might be killing a tree because they need that stuff to live!

Yep definetly a conspiracy of BS. Its like that HAARP thing in Alaska where they say the government is trying to change the weather. Unbelievable. Its just a money maker for the Bilderberg Group in Geneva Switzerland to make billions more on us people.

 

If it's caused by human activities, then why do you think it's completely beyond our control to change it? Last I checked, humans were in control on planet earth.

The scientific consensus is that human activities are contributing over 50% of global warming and that it threatens to disrupt the natural temperature variation to a degree not seen since humans first evolved. The result is unknowable given the limitations of current climate projection models.

We could throw our hands up in the air and act helpless while we carry on our merry way or we could tackle the serious problems facing our children's generation.

 

There is one way to change it. It is still beyond your control.
That one way would be population control.

Also people are only arrogant enough to think we control this world. As a mass we have an effect on it. But we in no way control it.

I can't believe that after climate-gate people are still trying to say global warming is real and that its all mans fault. Its all a sham created by scientist trying to push their own agenda on us. Plus there are BILLIONS to be made off of this deal, Al Gore has been doing quite well pushing this fallacy.

Don't get me wrong I love clean air/water as much as the next guy, but unless ALL nations (China/India) don't start taking it seriously it really wont make a bit of difference.
