Fake ever since I have been alive. Apparently my parents had real trees by themselves and with my oldest brother. When it comes time for me... what ever the wifey would want

We get a real fake one every year. Seems all the rooms have to have one. Then they have to be replaced as they get older.

Never had a fake tree until a few years ago, the parents and grandparents made the switch because they are getting old I guess. The girlfriend and I have a fake tree although I'm not sure why, she didn't feel the need to include me in that decision.

Christmas isn't Christmas without a real tree.

you gotta have a real tree. Even if it's only a potted seedling. Decorate your houseplants, just don't buy a fake tree.

I have about 4 fake trees around the house, not including x-mas trees. Easy to care for!

Fake is easy to care for but IMHO, it's just not Christmas without the smell of a fresh cut tree. I don't mind watering it once or twice then cleaning up the mess once a year.

As I said before. A fake for us. Like someone posted earlier, If you like the smell of a live tree, just go and get yourself about 5 or so of those pine scented car fresheners and hang inside the fake tree so you can't see it. Problem solved.

If I were going to have a fake, I would just tape a poster of a tree to a wall. For several years, we have bought smaller live trees and planted them after Christmas.

The wife just has me cut some greens from the yard to decorate with. So even with fake trees, you still have the smell.

Real trees around here from the farms are 45 -65 bucks. I finally gave in and bought a real nice fake one that is pre-lit. You really can't tell with some of the expensive ones unless you are real close. The smell is an issue but it can be cured with potpourri or candles etc.
I just could not justify throwing 50 bucks in the trash every year. Now my girls and I just go for a hike in the woods in the snow and go sledding.
