GOOD! I hope it is expensive. What about a frame check?

He was at fault, he got the citation, and my truck has FULL coverage (wink wink glc ) let them tally up as much as they want. My truck is going back the way it was pre-accident whether he pays for it out of pocket or not. Plus I get to put around in a 4-banger until then.

In other news, I got my copy of Forza 3, so I'll have something to do since I'm out of work and school for a week. Dunno if I said it or not, but I got paid all my lost wages (lets see here....4 days, 6 hours apeice...) which is around $145..but since I am not making tips, my $6/hr goes up to federal minimum wage of $7.24/hr, so thats $260, minus 21% taxes... is around $200.

you better get your frame checked, with a receiver on there you are adding strength to the back 2' of frame, which creates a weak spot right over the axle where the hitch stops

A civic actually totalled my extended cab F150 (what I had before what I've got now). I'm in the left lane (of two lanes on a 4 lane hwy) slowing down because somebody was pulling a u-turn. The civic, two cars back, doesn't see this, swerves off the road, then oversteers back on to the road literally t-boning my truck. Here's the aftermath:

Insurance ended up totaling the truck, giving me way more money than I thought I'd get, so here I am today with what I've got.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the only damage the civic got was a cracked headlight and some scuffs on the bumper (seriously)

He may have wanted to settle this without getting insurance involved cause he probably doesn't have any, or let it lapse. Hope that you get everything straightened out and you get to feeling better.

People rear-ending me is the ONLY reason I ride around town with a 6" dropped receiver hitch tongue in my hitch. If they rear end me, it will go through their radiator and HOPEFULLY stop them from going completely under me and taking out my axle.

Did you already get the check? Dont sign anything. Make sure you aren't going to miss more work because of follow-up doc appointments, and any PT you might have to do.

I agree. When I was hit, I settled to total his policy out at 25k. But, I could of gotten more plus doctors and so on. Don't sign. Get a lawyer who only takes money if you win and is less than 15%.

Generally, contingent fees range from 30 to 50 percent of money recovered.
