Attempted kidnapings hitting close to home...

Today someone tried to kidnap my 12 year old niece at a local park here in Arlington, Texas. Later I found out someone today tried to kidnap my cousin's daughter in the Toronto suburbs, Canada. Authorities were notified in each case with suspect descriptions and vehicle descriptions given for both.

WTH is wrong with people? Sickos.

About 15 years ago my folks' neighbor kidnapped a boy, and molested a few more one night. This was before child mo's had to identify themselves to neighborhoods. Glad I never had a go-cart, cuz that guy was "fitting them for race suits."

Recently, approx 6 months, a dude that was living on a neighbor's ranch raped a 15 yr old boy. Neighbors tried to get him arrested and out before that, but cops wouldnt do anything re: harassment and the ranch owner, well she bailed the guy out. We're all hoping the kid's family sues the ranch right out from under her for knowingly harboring this guy.

Glad they're ok, Stealth. What is going on when someone decides to destroy a family because of their own sick means? Jeezus. - Og

All we can do is practice and preach high security at all means. The world's hatred disgust me. I hope for the best and plan for the worst.

Yes it does and it also going to make me carry all the time when I am out with my wife and step son. If anyone tries that when I am around they wont be doing anything EVER again.

What are the odds of your family having that problem, that close to the same time? Plus the distance from each other. Hang on tight, it seams that when times get tough people get crazy, plus copycats. Prayers are with you and your family
How are the children doing, after such an ordeal?

It took me about 5 tries to get this thread opened

That is a shame, Stealth. Glad they are ok, and hope that it does not affect them too badly.

Well my sister and niece are doing OK even though my BIL and nephew are out of town on a sailing trip. :o Niece was quite upset at the time, as was my sister. Smart action on my niece's part kept her safe, even though people were around the goon still tried to make his move on her. F'n sleaze bag.

I believe my cousin's daughter (10 years old) was walking home with a friend when a van pulled up and asked them 'if they needed a ride', as if, you know. 2nd cousin is a track runner, the two took off running and told their parents suspect and vehicle descriptions.

As you can imagine the parents and families involved are upset but doing fine, and counting their blessings. Guardian angels working overtime. :o

I'm happy it turned out well, Steath. Sounds like the girls have their wits about them. Maybe good parenting?
