Haro Vector VR4 mountain bike with street tires right now. Looking for a road bike in the spring. Vector is a little heavy on the roads.

What would a good price be on a dedicated Tri bike? Full graphite with stock wheels and gears. Any good stores to check out?

2003 Specialized Allez. Full Ultegra, Ultegra Compact crank; E3 curve handle bar, Speedplay pedals. Had to put a Mavic CXP-33 wheel on the back after I trashed the Shimano OEM.

Just came in from a ride, I LOVE FL this time of year.

I just came in from a ride too. Head winds kicked my butt.

1993 Specialized Hardrock Sport.
Rebuilt with road crank, road cassette, smoothies.
Basically a homemade hybrid.

62 degrees here. I was going to hit a single track, but it's still too muddy.

My Hardrock is far left.

Got it on my 38th birthday.
I'll be 54 Saturday.

No cracks in the frame, I'm guessing it's got about 40,000 miles on it.

A starter tri bike will set you back about $1500, which is a huge waste of money if you aren't an experienced triathlete, and dont plan on completing more than 5 tri's a year. Most triathletes train on a normal road bike, and only ride their tri bike for a few weeks before the tri and the tri itself. You can transform a normal road bike into a decent tri bike for around only $400 if you know what you're doing, and where to look for parts.

As for best places to look for tri bikes or any bike for that matter, I would highly suggest only going to your local bike store, so you can be fitted for an exact bike match. Otherwise, you will never be able to bike without back, hip, and knee pain.

If you already have been fitted, or are just looking for components check out:

Road/Tri:
OneTri
Bonktown
RealCyclist
Performancebike
Bike Nashbar

MTB:
Chainlove
Huck 'N Roll

Mine are not the same setup as Raoul's, but pretty cheap to make.

I use the same set up as serotta, but I used a 2x6 that I put vertically into the slits that are just behind the cab in the sides of the bed. I would take a picture of it, but its 5 degrees ouside and my bed is filled with snow.
