At both Discount Tire and T & W Tire, they put 35 in all of mine. That is what I have run for years.

And there is a very big difference in the 2 tires. His is rated at 2337lbs at 44 on a car, minus 9% because it is used on a truck. Yours is rated at 3086lbs at 50 for a car, minus 9% when used on a truck. At 35 your are fine for everyday driving, however if you carry a load or tow it should be bumped to about 40-42, whereas his should be bumped to max when carrying a load or towing, since his tire is at it's limit for the rated capacity of the truck.

Agreed. I seldom tow or carry a heavy load. If I do, it's a very short idstance.

No, it is not. Just about all the manufacturers state that P series tires have a reduced load rating when used on a light truck application. The 9%, I got from the Tire Rack web site showing the reasons why they have the reduced ratings. Mainly it is the weight always being heavier and the center of gravity being higher.

Ian, I wish you would be a little more definitive about how you feel.
