25 cents for the movie, 25 cents for hamburgers and gas was 18 cents a gallon. Tom and Jerry, Droopy, Foghorn Leghorn. John Wayne. When your word was your bond. You could disipline your children and so could the teacher at school.

I could go on all night!

Different times, different memories:
White wall tires
Dual exhausts
Glass packs
Spinner hubcaps
Fender skirts
Dual antennas
Reverb units on radios
Radios had tubes
Most cars had no power steering, windows, door locks, brakes and most were standard shift 3 speed on the column. Some had an overdrive lever you pulled. Some, like the Mercurys of the 50's had free wheeling in OD where the engine went back to an idle at speed when you got off of the gas.
Hiway speed limit was 45 (yeah, I was a little kid but remember it took forever to get anywhere).
Burma Shave signs.
Black and white TV with round screens. You changed channels by dialing it in, no clicks just dial it and no remotes. No VHS, DVDs.
Record players in cars. Most didn't work when the car was moving.
Pegged jeans
Pointy toe shoes
Paisley shirts
Black Jack gum
Gasoline was 98 octane and was under $.20 a gallon
Howdy Doody

I'll quit and let somebody else fill in the blanks.

When I was in the 4-7 year range, I was a power ranger freak. Then I became a Start Wars freak. Then as I started getting to around 10, I started building and painting model military aircraft. I have 2 closets full of them that my mom has kept.

For TV shows, I remember:
Salute Your Shorts (no not a porno)
Weinerville (no not a porno)
Wild and Crazy Kids (no not a pedophile)
Rocko's Modern Life
Cat Dog
Angry Beavers

90's alternative and grunge music

Fox Body mustangs and LT1's

FLannel shirts and cut off long jean shorts

Some random memories from my formative years in the mid-70's:

- Huffy "Thunder Road" bicycles.
- My old man calling me in from the backyard to change the channel on the television.
- SSP Racers.
- The CB-radio craze.
- Campers that slid into the bed of your pick-up.
- Going to the local stock car races and about all they ran were "Tri-Five" Chevrolets.

I could go on and on......

Oh yeah big wheel, legos, and match box cars. Man, I remember my parents had a split level house and I would build lego bridges for my matchbox cars. Sit on those damn steps for hours.

The original G.I. Joe and Ninja turtles cartoons.

Late night rock and roll on am radio......
WLS- 890, Chicago, the rock rolls on, Grand Spaulding Dodge commercials
KAAY- 1090, Littke Rock, clear channel 50,000 watt, the Harvest Gleaner hour, Garner Ted Armstrong's The World Tomorrow, a CONLRAD station
KOMA-OKC
I don't remember what station Beaker (sp) Street was on though. What a 'head' program that was.
Even though we lived in western Minnesota these stations came through loud and clear on cold crisp winter nights in the early seventies.
