I bought mine because I wanted a full size truck with a long bed, and it also had to be the one and only v6 F150... with standard shift.

It's soooo funny that everyone I talk to thinks I have a custom truck or something because it is stick shift. They thought Ford axed stick shift in the NBS F150s...

Plus, I like overloading it... it is funny to see a v6 F150 haul loads that are designed for a dump truck.

I think my truck hates me... but I love it.

But another big plus is that the engine is like as simple as a LawnBoy lawn mower engine to fix.

Well when i was younger and didnt no crap about vehicles. I wanted a chevy. Then it came my 15 b day and my dad bought me a 1992 f-150. Well i didnt like it cause it was slow. Really slow. Had a inline 6 in it. You could push that motor and it never blew so i was impressed. So then my dad bought a 1978 f-250 with a 460 and omg that thing was bada## lol Then we were driving home one day behind this chevy pickup about a 90 model. Green and went to pass us. Thing had a good sound pulled infront of us and all we could see was black smoke and him getting over lol. Then heard some stories about how many probs my famly had with chevys then i kinda went to ford from now on. My 92 had 262000 miles on it when i traded it for my 04. I just love f-150 nows thier the greatest truck in my opinion.

my dad had 2 f150's mine and one before that and when i got a car i had the option on a 95 eddie bauer and a ranger and being 16 i just liked how the ranger was easy to maneuver but after that i had a 95 ram 1500 (loved it pretty much the best body style dodge will ever build) but ended up back to my dads f150 and its a great truck. ive always loved trucks and the 94-96 body style but when your not paying you take what you get. i wouldnt change it except for another ford. i use it as a truck about 1/2 the time whether is big or small stuff and its so functional being that only a few of my friends have trucks it gets alot of use. and my dad moved into an 08 when he gave me mine.

Bought a boat.
Neither my wifes Windstar nor my Toyota pickup were up to the task, towingwise.

Looked at all three domestic fullsize pickups, they were very close in invoice price with the same options.

While researching on the web I found this site in Dec 98, there were 700 members back then.
It took me three months to read every single post.
Joined in Feb, ordered in Mar, took delivery in Apr 99.

At the time I had a Ford Citibank CC and had acquired about $2,000 off a new Ford. Buying this one for $2,000 under invoice with the wealth of acquired knowledge from this site sealed the deal.

Ten years later, no regrets.

I bought my quad and had no way to haul it. I had to use my brothers truck to pick it up. My girlfriend and I also wanted a travel trailer so I knew a truck was in my future. I ended up with my F-150 because it was the nicest used truck I could find at the time for the money I wanted to spend. I was only looking at Chev and Ford. It is my first full sized truck and I have been happy with it so far.

I bought my 04 SCAB because it had the most room and best ride compared to the competion and I liked the color and look of the truck.. I am now in a Diesel F350 Crew Cab only because I couldnt tow the size fifth wheel with my F150.

In my family we have allways had ford truck/cars, my father had a 32 ford folowed by a 48 F1. Then later on a F100 Ranger, 88 Ranger, 96 F250, and finally 04 F250. So for me it was a simple choice when I needed a work/play truck. Not to mention the f150 is still the best all around selling, towing, and in my opinoin best looking truck on the market. Needless to say "I LOVE MY TRUCK"

I bought mine in November of last year, but bough it due to a job promotion requiring me to have a truck to travel in. I also needed 4wd to get where i need to go sometimes and need the size to take clients out as well.

So bar minimum had to be 4wd and crew cab.

I found out about the promotion in August and proceeded to go to every major manufacturer of a full size truck and drove every single damn one of them. After the drive I would put the driver seat all the way back, get in the back seat, and close the door. If my big *** legs didn't hit the seat in front of me, then i kept it on the list.

For me it really came down to the value. To have all the options and amenities with the FX4 that I bought, no other manufacturer could touch it. Most wanted at least 5-7k more for similar options. In the end it came down to the new body style Sierra and my FX4. I got my 05 w/ 28k miles on it for 18k and to get the Sierra I wanted would have cost at least 25k or more. I didn't want to spend that kind of money.

I'm approaching having it for one year now and its been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Aside for the SLIGHT lack of enough power for me, that's my only complaint I've had so far. It has worked flawlessly and don't everything I expected and then some. The power problem will be resolved with boost here very shortly

All in all, one of the best buys on a vehicle I've ever made and I am 100000% satisfied with it.

Upgraded from the ranger, needed more room, fullsize 4 doors, more towing, work also and to be able to do this on regular basis:

For what I use my truck for, I looked at every 1/2 ton out there. They all would have done the job. It came down to getting the better deal on an F150. Has it been reliable? Yeppers. Has it had it's problems? Yeppers. But they all do.

That and there was a small bit of brand loyality seeing I still owned a 5.0L Mustang and Capri at the time I purchased the truck and they were great cars seeing the hell I put them thru.
