Sometime in the future, a world currency is inevitable with all the inflation (money printing) we have now. That old book in the Bible called Revelation is going to prove correct.

We already have a global currency. It's hard, it's yellow, and you own it. It also doesn't partake in Usury--And they make some pretty cool designs.
