thanks fellas. my girl is ecstatic, and keeps joking about a shopping spree. HAH! ill buy her something nice, take a vaca or too, but definately investing it. im gonna talk to my cousin who is a financial broker and see what we can do. i wrote down all of wat Sscully said, and see what he recommends. man, this is nuts. i want so bad just to go out and buy a new mercedes, but thats the dumbest thing i could do. and my grandpa is on his way out, and has a pension from when we worked for Littin Corp. and will sign that down to me and my sister. an extra 75 grand.

Gosh migdaddy, I wish I had half of the luck you have. I'm sorry for your loss, but I truely do respect you for how you are handling the situation. If you and your lady friend (wife? or just girlfriend?) are fairly serious, I would put some of the money, say 20K into an IRA account and let it gain interest for your child (if you want to have any) for college. Going into school with no possible help from my parents made it very hard. A college education that has already been paid for makes it so much less stressful. Investing is a very smart idea. I would say that you could sponsor my exhaust. Haha. But if I were you I wouldn't do it either. Anywho, congratulations on the new money, sorry about the way it came. Wish you the best.

First thing you buy is a keyboard that has a "Shift" key.

One good, month long vaca, do everything you want to our truck, get ahead on your mortgage, invest a big chunk.

I'd match monthly whatever you put into the mortgage if you plan on keeping the house, that way you still have excellent credit

And you know you could toss a few grand my way

As long as there is not a exclusion on the length of time, I'm up for it.

RP might like a 60-40 split on 2K for a 1 day ban.....

Is your cousin a financial broker or financial planner ? Usually the latter is code word for Insurance salesman.

Congrats Mig, but it is an unfortunate circumstance. You seem like you are being mature about it... good for you bud

im suprised no one has mentioned this: try a new hobby?

off the top of my head i think you could get a pilots license. its a lifetime experience that you cannot put a price on.

A lot of people are saying pay off his house, first question how much is his mortgage? That might just put a dent in his payment. I say bank it until you know what to do with it.
