What are we comparing to?
My Buell needs nothing but oil changes.
My BMW, need valve adjustments and Fuel Injection sync'ing every 6000. Not to mention the new BMW's are chucking rear differentials all the time.
I've seen a lot of harley touring bikes with 30-50-75-100K without any major problems. Put 100K on a inline 4 bike let me know how much trouble you have had.
I think Harley's do okay overall.

Personaly I have a Honda valkyrie interstate, its a 01 model with 100,000 miles on it and I have had no problems at all, I have had the carbs synced once and I change the oil every 6000 miles. I really enjoy shutting up the local HD fanboys after they talk trash for about a month I will usually give them a chance to run them and I do enjoy the look on their face after I roast them badly.
