habibi I assume you carried them in the Canadian army? If so those are m-16 they have 3rd burst, the ones that members are talking about are ar variants they come from .22 up to .50cal but are all semi auto. and made by tons of different manufactures.

dont get me wrong the gas piston is a GREAT set up and almost eliminates carbon build up on the bolt carrier group but its pretty pricey theres a number of companies out there that make conversion kits. besides weapon maintenance is key to any rifle

Gas piston ARs are an answer to a question no one asked, IMO. They have a few benefits, like use with a suppressor, but beyond that, meh. They don't really accomplish anything that gas impingement doesn't.

the new ruger is a piston operated. the stay much cleaner its not an opinion but a fact. its the biggest improvement to the ar platform since rear sight elevation or picinani* rails.

Sure, it stays cleaner. Does it really matter? No.

Colts are one of the best ARs.

Here is one of the better ones too and it's made in my backyard. Well, not really but close.

gcw, I was a co for the federal prison service, our AR-15's were semi autos.
If I remember right, the clips held twenty .223 hollow points.

A very easy gun to fire, no kick, easy to aim, and nice & light to carry around.
I'd have one in my house if I could.

I didn't realize that several companies all made an AR-15.

Mine is a Colt and you can shoot it all day long without cleaning it!

I like Ruger, but 2K for an AR is crazy.

I only ever fired mine once in the line of duty, the rest of the time it made an excellent hat holder

i got the colt law enforcment model ar .223. it has the 16 inch barrel. it is very accurate and first time i fired it only had to make a couple small adjustments to zero. shooting at 100 yards i can put all the rounds into a body target.

thought about a longer barrel that would make it more accurate but this would make a better home defense gun. for like when maybe a squirel gets in.

i would buy that model again.

The Daniel Defense ARs are not $2,000.
