A buddies sister invited us to her company Christmas party. We went out first and showed up pretty hammered. I met her there.
I later found out that it was all set up. She was supposed to be there but was at home sick and had one of her other friends check me out first. I guess I passed inspection, even though I was hammered, as she was called and told she should show up. We will have been together 9 years this December.

Laundry Room at Ford Hood, 4th of July weekend, 1993.
My former girlfriend (of 6 months) was upstairs in my room, naked. It's the 4th weekend 1993, Fort Hood is darn-near desereted, and everyone was gone- or, so I thought. I needed a break, so I went to wash some clothes.
No one's gonna be there, it's the 4th of July- right? (WRONG!).
To my surprise, someone had all the washers tied up. As they stopped, I began to take the clothes out and sit them on top of the dryers, when this stacked little hot mamma walked in- talking about having to hurt me (half my size) if I messed up her clothes. We laughed, and next thing you know, were were talking.
----------------------
I'd seen her before (Dec. 1992), but was engaged at the time, so I couldn't pursue her. Three months later (Feb. 1993), my engagement was off, and I was a free agent.
My plan: "No more serious girlfriends", and "hit anything that moves in my direction". I was on a run...
She and I had a mutual friend (E3/PFC), who I tried to tag as well, circa Aug. '92, but ended up in the friendzone). I asked her to hook us up, but she refused. She wouldn't- saying that she was "too mean" and "not my type".
----------------------
She was a Sergeant (E-5), I was a Specialist (E-4). We began talking about college, promotion points, etc.. We spent about an hour talking. I left and came back to put my clothes in the dryer, she came back to take hers out, and we talked another hour or so. She asked me if I had a girlfriend in Killeen, to which I replied, "No". She said I was lying... I assured her I wasn't.
My Ex, who was currently in town, was really from Arizona- so, I didn't feel that was a lie (Although it was).
She went her way, I went my way. We didn't exchange numbers or anything.
Two months later, she came by my room, and asked if I wanted to go to lunch (Sunday).. I said, "OK", and that was that... I ended up firing all my girlfriends, and becoming an honest man.
Today, 15 years, 11 months, and some odd days later- we're still together. We've been married 15 years, and 3 months of that time.
