And you never went over the posted speed limit? Doubt it.

Curious how that works. A few years back I was in Toledo Ohio and they were supposedly doing that. Thing is, how do you know who exactly was driving the car? I assume the person's name on the title gets the ticket. What if it's a joint ownership? Are there points involved. What if you let a friend borrow your truck and they got a ticket because of one of these? You get fined and recieve points?

I never said that. I said that it's not smart to speed through city intersections. If I do and get caught by a camera or a cop, I'll pay the ticket without complaining. Intersection cameras are there for SAFETY, not simple revenue generation. My opinion about cops that sit out in the middle of nowhere to generate revenue is considerably different.

You go to court and identify the driver, and the ticket will be transferred.

What if that person denies it? They can't really prove anything. Seems like it would be hard to enforce or atleast follow through with.

The camera takes the driver's picture.

So I assume they take two pictures then? Front and back of the car? And the pictures are clear enough to distinguish between people? I'm not being smart. I'm just generally curious.

They're plastic. Half the car would be laying there.

Why do you complain you ask, never affect me?

What happens when I'm on my motorcycle, I'm the only one on the road, and it refuses to change? We can "cautiously" go through a "defective" light.

What happens when I'm stuck out in the middle for whatever reason and it turns red, now I get a ticket?

It's just wrong to indiscriminately issue tickets.

PS I don't agree with the DUI checkpoints either.

There are tons of studies that show red light cameras are ineffective, and sometimes actually INCREASE collisions.

The single goal of redlight/speeding cameras is to increase revenue. Public safety is not a factor in deciding to install redlight/speeding cameras.
