*Sirius Now $14+ a month!?
That is one large payment taken at one time.
Month to month is just that, monthly service. That is what the emails suggested, purchasing at least a 12 months service contract, to avoid the rate increase. At least that is what Sirius did with the increase notifications.
I won't see the rate increase for another 2.5 years, last renewal I did the 36 month package on both the truck and the house Sirius radios.
Personally, I love sat radio and could never go back, it's all about what makes you happy.
TV used to be free also as did air at the gas station. If you don't like Sirius then get rid of it. I know that 3.50 cents a week would bust me big time. Remember it the next time you pay 197.50 a month for cable,Internet, phone. etc..
Satellite radio seems like a real bargain at 3.50 a week. I drive many hours a week and would not be without it.... to each thier own..

Sorry I didn't do that out of the gate.
My new Ranger is a month old and it's the first experience I've ever had with satellite radio. While I find it moderately entertaining, I've thought to myself that it's probably worth $10.00 a month to me, and if it's any more than that I'll probably let it slide once my introductory period expires.....
Everything is a choice - it just depends on your value system. I personally had had XM, then Sirrius for several years. I haven't listened to local 'free' radio in so long I couldn't tell you what the stations are. I get great value from Sirrius - plenty of sports especially Nascar and the NFL, news when I want it, and a wide variety of music most of it with no dumb yuk-yuk DJ BS. My biggest complaint about the merger is that they kept the XM 60s channel which is the WORST for DJ blather.
For that I use my iPod - but it's quite simple - free radio doesn't provide anywhere near the variety that's available on Satellite nor can you beat the nationwide reception. I travel cross country a lot and nothing burns me up more than to listen to a ball game or a race on free radio and drive out of the coverage area and then not be able to find a station carying that event again.
You get what you pay for and for me, satellite radio is a bargain even at $15 a month.

Transfer Fee: If you wish to transfer your Subscription to a different SIRIUS Receiver during the term of a Subscription period, we may charge you a transfer fee of up to $75.00
3. You may only transfer a lifetime Subscription to a different SIRIUS Receiver a maximum of three times.
As I havnt changed my radio yet, I'm still good for 3 swaps, so I'm not worried about it.

Scully, I noticed you pay a seperate subscription for the house & the truck?
I have a car kit hardwired into each of my vehicles, a home kit, as well as the boombox thingy.
I have the Stileto 100 I think it's called, and I just plug it in wherever I happen to be. This way I just paid the one lifetime subscription and I have it wherever I am or in whatever vehicle I happen to be driving.

The house, I have a StarMate, pre PnP interface on the bottom.
It is hooked to the AMP with the RCA plugs for the 1st floor, basement, garage and MBR via mono block amps mounted to the basement wall ( volume controls is each room ).
The FM modulator is hooked into the powered FM antenna system, before the splitter, so I can tune to 88.1 in the office or spare bedroom and get the station.
Pre PnP interface all the cables are in the unit, so it would be a few min to move it to the truck. Also, that means it can only be in 1 place, so when I am gone, the house does not have Sirius ( smack in the back of the head, just like Gibbs
).

I installed the Visteon factory receiver in the truck. Don't like obvious external mounts hanging around while the truck is parked at the airport for a week or so.

Isn't that the case, just listening to something about the confederation bridge toll cost. What is that about ???

I can understand about the external mount thing, which is a big trade off when I made the decision to go with the stileto. A nice clean factory look would look so much better, but what I lose in looks I gain in portability.
Everything is always a compromise. I never leave the unit in the vehicle when it's parked somewhere for the very reason you stated, too easy to smash the window and just grab it.
