Better place to live than USA

Where America is heading...is there a better place to live? Many will say, "If you don't like what's going on, leave." That's my question. With a radical President in charge and a Democratic control Congress, I fear that we are heading in the wrong direction with more taxes and government control. I love America, but I worry about the future. So, any other great places to live where I don't have to worry about being raped by taxes and government control. Of course, it's got to be friendly to Americans.

I've always thought Canada has their chit together.. They seem to be smart enough to stay the hell away from most of the conflict that our presidents have gotten us into in the past.

I've looked into this......

Switzerland is nice, can keep my guns and low tax rate comparativly speaking. The only problem is it takes 12 years to become a citizen there.

French Guyana on the north central coast of South America is another option as far as owning guns, life is a little bit slower there but thats OK

Any other options?

Maybe Texas will secede, and you can stay right where you are.

If that happens, be prepared for lots of refugees from the other 49 states, lol.

Barring that, your options are pretty limited. The best bet is to go to a relatively low population area where you can live in freedom more or less off the grid, even if the capitol of the country has some socialist tendencies. New Zealand, maybe. Costa Rica also is supposed to be friendly to Americans with low taxes on foreign nationals.

At this point the best choice might be to wait it out and hope the pendulum will swing the other way sooner rather than later. Never hurts to explore your options, though.

I wouldn't bother looking at the UK!!! Im looking at getting out of here an America is still on my place of options. As a an English speaker my options other than the U.S are currently Canada Aus or New Zealand. Dubai a far far far outsider.

When SITF, I'm going off the grid in to the mountains of Colorado. I will become the leader of a band of resistors known to the obamanites as the wolverines.

(only joking about the wolverines part)

I used to recommend my homeland, Turdsmania.
However, it has the same issues that exist here.
Problems continue to pile up and you can't help but step in it.
Their policies stink.
There is a lot of nasty finger pointing.

I got the hell out of there because nobody would open a window or give you a courtesy flush.

Oh and they don't recognize duel citizenship status, either you're a Turd or your not.

I've got my eye on the Philippines for retirement. Plenty of English speakers, and it's dirt cheap compared to the US. Lots of expatriate Europeans, Australians, Canadians, and Americans live there, too. Plus it's a short plane flight to a lot of Asian countries for some interesting travel destinations.

Doesn't matter where you escape to you still are obligated to pay income taxes to the US after a certain amount of earnings. Even if you denounce your citizenship. Not saying everyone fulfills that obligation.

You're welcome to come to Canada if you want even tougher gun laws, higher taxes and want to be surrounded by Liberals and Frenchmen. Other than that it's a great place to live.

I've heard good things about Chile, I do know you can have guns. I don't know if it's as good as the US on ownership though.

Ever think about living on a sail boat? You don't have to be part of any country, then just raise the white flag of peace and trade with whatever country you want.
