Gov't Healthcare -petition
If you don't want:
1. the government telling you what you can and can not eat... the courts will rule that if the government is paying for your healthcare, then the government has a "compelling interest" (for you lawyers think about the "strict scrutiny" test) to tell you what to eat in order to control costs;
2. the government telling how much to exercise (see above explanation);
3. the government determining whether you should or should not have a medical procedure because of the costs (like every other nation does that has a national healthcare system);
4. the government having access to every detail of your medical history;
5. the government bureaucracy that will come with a national healthcare system (I know a veteran that has appealed a medical decision of the Veterans Administration and it has been over 2 years and she has not even be given a date for her FIRST hearing on the appeal, which she was told by the VA it has been taking on average of 2 1/2 years)
then read the petition below and consider signing it.
This is the petition that Glen Beck, Bill Bennet, Dennis Preaeger and others are pushing for people to sign. They are aiming for a million signatures.

When I signed there was over 772,000 signatures. If you don't want the government to control our health care, please join me in signing this petition.

I signed a few days ago.
I'm not sure if it really makes any difference though. There are too many lunk heads in this country who would rather have the government make thier health care decisions, than pay to have an insurance company make their health care decisions.
If people in this country think that health care is a "broken" system, why doesn't someone propose a system that requires the individual to make thier own health care decisions. If we don't follow the reccomended maintenance on our vehicle, the vehicle will likely break down. People need to take care of their own health care maintenance, and only have insurance for the big stuff, like we do with our vehicles.
I don't see any system working, if it doesn't make the individual responsible for themselves.
