Remember:
-There have always been forest fires.
-There have always been volcanos.
-There will always be pollution as long as Earth is in existance as we know it.
-Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only changed from one state to another; in the end it will revert.
-Energy takes pollution to create energy; look at fossil fuels... dead dinosaurs polluted the environment, and their matter got changed from one state to another.
Personally... there is no such thing as pollution. How can you pollute? You have to look at the Earth like an A/C system -- it's a sealed system (in reality we are bombarded with stuff from space everyday, and even some of the air is being lost from gravitational differences) You have the matter that has energy, you use it when you run it through the cooling coils generating the pollution, and then you have the evaporator and compressor which you can consider "time" that will convert it back to energy for it to be used to cool again. All you are doing is moving from one state to another. Even simple physics can explain this.
