should be drivable in about 2-3 weeks. need to order drive shafts and put some fluids in and it should be good to go.

waiting on a few screws and the windshield will be installed wednesday or thursday.

think i decided on leaving my front tube fenders off. didn't like how they look on it and without them it should make it really easy on the trails to see where my tires are

she now is street legal. got a few tiny things to get done before i move, but overall i don't have any thing planned until december/january that i hope to get done before the land cruiser jamboree at katemcy in jan.

turning 35's with my steering set up is easy, can use my pinky finger if i wanted. only downside i can see to having it driving is that my dad keeps trying to steal it

My best buddy bought this one for 1900 dollars. Two years later and a few grand for a tub, backyard rotisserie, frame off resto, and other assorted parts and it looked like this:

No offense to Jeep owners, but there is no comparison. FJ 40's are a much better vehicle in any condition, and rare enough that you don't see them everyday, everywhere.
Sadly my buddy has two FJ 60's, a 450SL, a Subaru, 3 boats and two houses, so he's going to sell the 40 at some point. Too many toys and not enough time to care for them all. I wish I could afford to pay him what it's worth now.

Good luck with yours! You know, you never get them "finished"!

most definitely are better in everyway, i bought mine having never seen an fj40 in person and bought it site unseen and not running. knowing what i know now and having driven some old cj7's there is no comparison what so ever

definitely not finished, still working on tracking down a winch (warn 5687 or 8274), fj60/62 rear axle, and then build my axles with longfields, 4.88's, arb air lockers and then it'll be close to done for a while until i find what suspension changes i want to make. the one thing everyone keeps saying about my build is how i modded near everything but i left my dash stock looking as possible

i did track this down about a month ago that is waiting to be installed. offered as an accessory from toyota in the late 70's and early 80's
