Post Lawn tractor mods

I have an extra set of fog lights hanging around and half-jokingly thought of swapping out the lights on the tractor with the fogs. Any reason I couldn't?

Also, has anyone done anything to increase the HP on theirs? Just curious. Maybe a superchip?

I thought I'd have to do some kind of mod to my rider.
Tried to get my daughter to cut the grass and everytime she engaged the blade it would stall. My wife, the same thing. I can use the mower with no problem. I figured out that the safety feature of (no rider) was killing it. Neither of them was heavy enough on the seat to let it run.

I was either going to have to fix it or just cut the grass myself. So, I got out my toolbox grabbed the hammer and threatened my wife a daughter with it till my wife put my daughter on her lap. Now, they mow the grass together (and I didn't even have to get out the big hammer).

Have any of you guys ever see lawn mower pulls. If you wanna learn how to soup-up a lawn mower just talk to one of these guys. In a regular modifeid class it's nothing to see what use to be a stock 20-25 hp mower cranking out 60+ hp. One guy I tlaked too said he had 4000 in motor alone. The is alos a super modifeid class that really is not even a lawn tractor. They are made on a steel (tube or box) frame and they set everything from road bike engines to small 4 cylinder car engine. One guy has twin Harley engines on his, man that thing sounds good, the ones with road bimes engines really scream to. I estimate that they go down the track at 30mph. With street tires on blacktop with no load one driver told me the thing would hit 80mph easy. This is a serious deal for some of these guys. Air shifters, major engine work. It is just amazing to see a Cub Cadet doing 20 mph down the track on the back wheels pulling a weighted sled.

I wouldn't be safe on a modified lawn tractor. I actually rolled my granpa's when I was a kid.I was racin the neighbors on their mower. Those things just down corner on slopes very well. Really scary at the time but funny as heck now.

I thought of fixing one up and saved enough money for a used 80cc 2stroke 4wheeler
and then had a old cool looking lawn mower body given to me
the plan was to just put the body on the 4 wheeler frame and then cut the frame to suit
and then change the handle grip with steering wheel
was ready to do it all till i left it out of the shop and my dad drove his lowered dually right out the shop and squished the 4 wheeler

after that i gave up and havent tried to do it again

My lawn tractor has a modified to fit KN filter. Had the motor rebuilt last year (it blew) upped the compression alot. Only runs on av fuel now (100+ octane) i am guessin about 50 hp out of a stock 18hp motor. She really lays a patch of rubber if you get after it!!

Ok, OK I see you guys making fun of the Kentucky hick and the lawn mower mods. Funny as it may be but I swear I was telling the truth on my last post. It was a big thing about 2 years ago, sort of died down now. That ok I would laugh to if I read someones post that sounded like mine did. LOL

I always wanted a riding lawn mower or tractor. My neighbor recently got one and I was really jealous until I realized something. He's got just about the same amount of lawn as I do and he looked really stupid mowing such a small yard with a lawn tractor.

KYFordFreak, I've seen those lawn tractor pulls and races on tv, but haven't seen any for a few years. Looks kinda funny to see lawn mowers running around a track. The guys driving them look so serious and it just cracks me up. Hell, if it were me, I'd probably be dressed in a clown suit whooping and hollering all the way.

Sometimes on ESPN2 late at night they show lawn mower races. Those things fly!! They race a circle track and flat out move!

Im a redneck so the lawnmower mods dont suprise me. Our riding lawn mower had the muffler fall off and i think its going to end up with a small striaght pipe or glass packs. there both cheaper than the factory replacement muffler. its also going to get 55w bulbs on it because the ones on it dont shine for 5 ft.
We also have a large grain truck that had the mufflers and exaust fall off and to pass inspection we needed them. We got a set of glass packs and straight pipes for 100 dollars cheaper than the muffler and pipe set up. We now have a chevy, sorry, 350 with glass and straights that shoots fire when it back fires.
