That's how he got to be a "Technical Article Contributor", he's personally experienced every problem you could ever have with a vehicle.

I've had both RWD and FWD vehicles - and I know how to drive both effectively. It's personal preference. I prefer RWD in all but real bad traction situations, then I prefer FWD.

I'm of the mind that the G8 will get some styling changes and be retained as a Buick or Chevrolet... And probably be better looking without having to incorporate the trademark Pontiac grille. The Holden version of that car... And the Vauxhall version in the EU... are more attractive.

I was thinking the same thing, except chevy has the malibu/impala as their mid sized sedan segment. I dont see how adding the G8 to the lineup would help sales of those two cars. Much of pontiac is already based off of GMs other cars, the g5 for example is a rebadged cobalt, the g3 an aveo base etc.
It would be cool to see the G8s drivetrain in a higher end 2 door malibu perhaps.

I personally dont think we will be missing much of pontiac. Although its
gxp gtx etc versions would be cool to have, Chevrolet or another GM branch will probably fill the enthusiasts need for those cars. Like it was said earlier at over 50k i would probably be looking at the CTS-V except that it would be probably a little more refined than a firehawk would be. Sometimes good ol' ***** to the wall snarling torque is a good thing.

Maybe Buick will get the G8 to try to get people under the age of 65 into their showrooms............

GM should shut down Buick and just use Cadillac as their exclusive luxury brand. They could rebadge Buick's better selling models with the Caddy emblem and still keep the blue hairs coming into the showrooms.

I was actually surprised to hear they're shutting down Pontiac since almost every other car I see is a Pontiac. It's been a very good selling brand and has always been GM's performance badge. Time will tell how smart this move was.

I've always thought the later models year Pontiacs, mid 80s on, were POS anyways. No big loss.

While i tend to agree with that thought, its the older crowds method of thinking that keeps buick alive imo.
I can just see some blue hair walkin in there with her widows salary sayin, "Oh no, there just aint no way im payin 45 K for that Cadillac car sedan! Ill pay 35 for that buick right over there, when most likely that buick over yonder is about 28k.
IDK the buick brand strikes a cord with the older crowd.
Im afraid if the buick branch did an excitement division their customers may all have heart failure lol!
