I have been kind of reluctant to post a reply beause I will probably never live it down. I have seen a picture of the next generation f-150 at a meeting we had a couple months ago. They flashed the picture by us real quick. I dont want to give away any real details, but my first impression was that it is a design that would have to grow on me. I felt it was drastically different and therefore takes some getting used to. I am still waiting to see more of it so that I can get a better idea of how much I like it.

To tell you the truth, I don't remember much at all (I have tried to picture it in my head, but all attempts have failed). Sorry all I could give you was my impression on it.

I think it will look like the lightning with the chopped roof prototype that has been in a few mags, it has a completely different shape, headlights etc. Like the new explorer only bigger. just my thoughts

Hey Guys,

As far as redesigns, look to the latest concept trucks doing the auto show circuit. The Ford Powerstroke concept of the mid 90's ended up being the Super Duty. My thoughts are 2 possible scenarios:
1) the new 2003 F-150 will look something like the Lightning Rod concept truck that was out this year.
2) potentially an F-150 Super Duty only as an addition to an F-150 light duty (not the replacement).

I would expect Ford to continue to sell two styles of truck (selling more than one style).

As far as squaring off like the Ranger... that would make it look like a 93-96 F-150.

So, it looks like 2003 could possibly be the re-design year for the F-150's.

If it's not, that's cool. I still think the current design is awesome.

Does anybody know for sure when the "baby" diesel comes out in the F-150 series trucks?
