Model Year and Mileage: Roadwarriors

OK, the most miles I ever put on a car in one year was 24,000.

Who are the road warriors? What year model is your truck/car- and how many (hopefully trouble-free) miles do you have on said vehicle.

I've owned my '97 Ranger since it was new (July of '97) and it has been my daily driver since day one. It's sitting at 132k right now, which only works out to about 11,000 per year. However, it looks as if this year might end up being my biggest ever for miles.

If I keep going at the rate I've been on since January, I'll put on about 24,000 miles in 2009. Now the thing about that for me is that almost all of my miles are reimbursable to me from my company for business travel -- that means I should bank around $13,000 in mileage money, which will go straight into my "toy car" fund, since the Ranger has long since been paid off.

The way I see it this puts me about halfway towards my goal of paying cash for my next toy -- probably an exceptionally clean and low mileage '04 - '05 Thunderbird.......

I used to average of +30K per year....

Until the bottom fell out of the economy and gas spiked.

On my 04 F150 I drove over 5K in the first 3 weeks after I bought it new....but right now im sitting at 110K.

I also had a 93 ZX-11D I put +75K on in 8 years.

I guess around 11,000kms per year. I either ride my motorcycle or my bicycle most of the time other than when it is too cold...

I have a 2004 Heritage with 69,000kms on it...

A good friend of mine stacked 50,000 miles on his new Camaro in it's first year back in 1991. Last time I talked to him (1997) he still had it. IF he kept rolling like that, he probably put 300,000 miles on it in that span.

It's 2009. 12 years, 50k a year equals 600k by now.

As for me. I will have 26k on my first year owning my truck.

I bought(actually the company paid for it) this truck back in 04'. I was selling it for the company but have kind of inherited it now. Needs a little work but this will become my daily driver by the time the snow flies again.

2004 w/140,000 trouble free miles (knock on wood )

I'm right at about 25K miles a year total, although this year I think it'll be closer to 28-29K due to trips. Truck is just shy of 131K miles on it right now. It has only had about 5K miles put on it in the past 10 months since I bought the Cavalier. Cavi™ is my current daily drive to work and back (35 miles one way). It's just shy of 251K miles.

No- I meant if he still had it when I last spoke to him (1997) he'd have had 300K on it by then (6 years @ 50,000 per year) = 300K

If he's still driving what would be an 18 year old car- that would be a miracle in and of itself...
