Driving Music
Here's a good one for getting a speeding ticket.
ZZ Top's "La Grange"
Launch from the light at the 36 second mark and no one can beat you.
(Everytime I play it I think of the track)

Anything by The Reverend Horton Heat,,,lots of car songs. My favorite is 5 0 Ford, which was put on the label to trick Tipper(Mrs. Gore) One lyric goes something like this(in double time distortion rockabilly) called Texas Psychobilly, lol
"I guess that since that b***h got bored,I had to race my ********d up Ford"
the song is about racing a car in his 51 Ford, powered by a flathead. He had no idea what it was til the sirens came on( at the same time his engine blew) It is similar to hot rod Lincoln, but with a GenX flavor....98

Fast country is the way to go for me. I don't like the crying whining slow songs.
Like the Caterpillar in the sig Jimmy.....happen to know where I can find one that says CAT Diesel Power?

I gotta agree with Raoul on this one. La Grange happens to be my favorite ZZ Top song.
Hard to beat ZZ Top for driving music when you want to make time.
AC/DC - Highway to Hell & Back in Black. Title tracks are great driving music, but the rest of the albums are pretty good, too.
Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak and the Boys Are Back; good drivin' rock songs.
Golden Earing - Radar Love.
Springsteen - Born to Run & Thunder Road

For driving long trips, I like Allman Bros Live at the Fillmore East, Grateful Dead Europe "72, any kind of Zydeco especially Boozoo Chavis or Beau Joque, Hellecasters Escape from Hollywood, SRV Couldn't Stand the Weather, ZZ Top (I like the first 3 albums from before they went disco/techno LOL), and any kind of blues with good lead guitar like Albert King, and Soul hits compilations..... 6 CDs is not enough - I have to buy an extra mag for my changer.

I think the big one for this upcoming summer cruise season will be the new Tool album "Lateralus" to be released on Monday (15th).
As far as parking and sitting on the tailgate with your buddies, maybe a little Bob Marley for relaxing.

My favourite is Speedball Tucker by Jim Croce http://www.jimcroce.com
Great lines like "He got a broomstick on the throttle to keep his throttle foot a-dancing 'round, with a cup full of cold black coffee and a pocket full of West Coast turn-arounds."
And "Here come a Georgia State policeman with a hundred-dollar fine, sayin' "95" was the route you was on, it was not the speed limit sign."
------------------
Black 2000 SC short-box XLT. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 limited-slip. CD, remote entry, factory side steps, FORD box liner, rear fender inner splash shields (TSB 00-09-05).
My third F-series ordered new. The other two: '73 F-100 Custom, 240 cube 6, 3 on the tree, tan, "West Coast" mirrors, step bumper, knitted vinyl seat, AM radio; and '98 F-150 SC short-box XL, XLS package, Pacific Green, 4.2 5-speed, 3.55 LS, FM-cassette.
GREAT trucks!
