Question Will be in Kansas City next week, any suggestions on what to do?!

I'm taking some training in KC all week next week and wondering how to spend my spare time. I will have most of the day Monday and then after 5 the rest of the week. Thinking about a ball game. Any other ideas!!

Thanks

Carolina SCrew,

I was in Topeka last month and made the drive to Kansas City every evening to eat ribs. They do a great job there.

I don't know if there is anything else to do there, I just went for the ribs.

Sure, ballgames are nice, if you like watching the Royals loose. The stadium is nice though.. We have plenty of good restaurants. 3 riverboat casinos. When we get really excited around here, we count the cars going down I-70.

Going to a Royals game is a good start. Even if they loose you get to see a game in a nice ball park. Go check out the new speedway on I-70. The arca cars were testing their set-ups the other day. You might get lucky and catch some practice laps. The country club plaza is ok to walk around and get a bite to eat. For good eats go to the Smokehouse on Shawnee Mission Drive or on N. Oak Tafficway, Herford House for good steaks, Crabs on Brodway for seafood, and many places for good BBQ. Also Station Casino is a good place to gamble and they have a good buffet too. We also have the Harley Davidson plant. Don't know if they give tours, but it is worth a try. Just a few ideas. If you need more info let me know and I will research it for you.

A couple of ideas,
The Arabia Steamboat Museum and Science City at Union Station. You can also drive by the Ford plant in Claycomo and see where your SCrew was likely born. Not sure if tours are available. For more information go to www.kansascity.com

Actually, you can do both in one place.. The Ameristar casino (formerly station casino) has an Aurthur Bryants BBQ in it.. Good stuff.
