well let me say this... I have NEVER driven in a vehicle cross-country that I love as much as my F-150. It's fabulous, I could drive it anywhere! In my 98 F-150 I drove it out to Tennessee, almost non-stop (rested for about an hour) and the same pace on the way back, my *** didn't get soar once. Same thing with my trip to Indiana, very comfortable experience, and plenty of leg room to stretch out, which is great for big ol 6' 8" me. I took my old 96 Saturn down to Colorado Springs (about a 3 hour drive from here) and I was hurtin so bad when I got there I was dreading the drive back! Got home and jumped out and cursed it as the most uncomfortable vehicle I'd ever driven (although fittin a 6' 8" guy into a saturn is like fitting a whole salmon into a sardine can - its just not designed to do that!) . With my two F-150's I have been to Arizona, California, Tennessee, Indiana and Michigan from Denver, all seperate trips. Each time I got to my destination and said "wow this is really comfortable!"

Mattbert I can say the same about my truck in the 18 months I had it I done 3 week long road trips and about 10 or so one day road trips. I don't have any aches or pains I use to get when I drove my Mustangs cross country or on one day road trips. Plus the truck rides much smoother than my Mustangs did as I would feel every bump in the road in my Mustangs this truck I don't feel the bumps that much.

Cool

Had mine almost a year now, 26,000 mi. But now I have a job that is a 45 mi trip ONE WAY. At least I take turns driving every other week with a co-worker. I don't think my "extended warranty" is going to last long enough to be considered "extended" at this rate!

Mattbert;
Just got back from Colorado Springs 4 days ago. Some great weather out there, atleast last week that is. Heard you were getting some snow in the higher elevations? Anyway, have had my truck for close to 7 months now and have put about 8000 miles on it since then. Not to bad considering my brother puts close to 30000 miles on his trucks in one year. He has had a new truck every 2 years, wish I could do that!
My flight back from Colorado sucked, had a very uncomfortable seat on the airplane to St. Louis and then a quick commuter flight to Evansville, Indiana. My rear was HURTING BAD after those two flights, I had a 1 hour drive home after that but, once I got into my truck I was in love, . Like you said, our truck seats are way comfortable!!! Just my .02 cents worth.

I think I'm heading towards the other end of the spectrum... Had mine since October 2000, just rolled over 4300 last weekend. (Of course, I rarely drive it during the week) I think this is the first time I've ever gone 3 months between oil changes instead of 3000 miles!! Of course, the Probe rolled over 99k yesterday, and will probably turn 100k next weekend! I've got the camera in the car waiting...

Took me 24 months to put 12,000 miles on my truck. I might hit 15,000 this month or next. You all must have horrendous gas bills. I fill up every other week. You guys must fill up every 3 days!

My last truck, I put on less than 11,000 miles. The previous truck, I turned in with 68,000 miles and it was 10 years old!

I think I need to get out more.

Not to say it's not bad but some of you don't drive these great trucks enough. I bought mine with 86,000 miles on it and now have about 121,000 miles (35,000 miles) in about 13 1/2 months. Of cousre I use to drive about 50 miles one way to work so 100 miles a day x 5 days a week is 500 miles plus an about another 100 miles a week/weekend on personel travel, so now we have 600 miles a week or 2400 miles a month. No wonder it seemed like everytime I filled up it was time for another oil change. In some respects I'm glad I got laid off from that job. Gees, that was alot of driving, but hey at least my truck still looks good and I think it runs as good as new.

Question

So....what's the problem? Average use for NADA and kelly Blue Book is 20,000 per year; you've done 10k in a half year...even though I don't know "new math" that sounds ok to me!

Fill with gas every two weeks? how about three times in one day? Every 6 weeks, I do a 900 mile day...

BTW, my SCrew has 23,4xx miles in seven months...and is gonna leave me around June 1, when I trade off to something else. Anybody interested? Gen II, moonroof, slider, soft tonneau, Michelins, tow pkg with correct radiator, bench.

My credentials? Yeah, they're right over there....
