*Inspection Question*
Wrong, as a Licensed State Inspector I know:
you can't have the CEL on
you have to test the light is actually working (key on engine off)
have to hook each car up to the computer
Doing as you suggested doesnt really work, since everything is run by the vin number through the database. So your vin# wont match the vehicle description, or your vin # wont have a current inspection if you run a heavy duty vin number.
yea, but it worked... friend had no problem getting registration, he just typed into the computer that it was an HD and put in his vin number, heavy duty didn't require emission
Just go get your truck inspected. Texas (im sure other states as well) has a program for financial aid in repairing emissions problems if that is what you have a CEL on for.
