My new pet peeve...

Ok, so the short of it is my mother and her oldest brother are having a spat which he turned into legal action. money and items involved, all i will say about that.

there is land for sale up our private drive, im fine with that, lookieloo's dont stick around long and will stop to chat about the land.

But im tired of the people coming up the drive, stopping TAKING PICTURES of my house then running like scared pissants when i catch them. the other week my brother (2 houses up) leveled off his rifle at a car close to 3/4 mile away across the road to get a better look with his scope. low and behold lights come on and they boogie! i dont think the amount of incidents are just "coincidence", every time these guys flat run from me. i ran my truck 90 mph one time just to catch this one guy. talk about running...

what would you guys do about this situation? im to the point where im gonna get me a shotgun, be dressed and ready to slip out the side door and cut them off at all times. im tired of people being where they ought not be and doing what im not sure of but i dont like. yesterday i went to the idaho house and some kid was behind the back building, only reason i seen him was because i was getting ready to load firewood. that kid ran so fast he almost took out trees.

I don't get the problem? Some people are taking pictures of your house, so what?

The last thing I would do is start pointing guns at people unless you're ready for some legal action yourself.

I saw this setup at a cabin that we stayed at in WV.

Get a dummy camera and mount it high on a utility pole and in plain site. Then get one of those signs that say "Smile, your being video taped". Radio Shack has waterproof red blinking leds (Like the PATS system in our trucks) that you could affix to the camera to make it appear alive.

The next time you see someone taking unwanted pictures of your house, just wander out onto the front porch in the nude and see if that doesn't scare them off.....

With all they people you apparently having spying on you or following you around it makes me feel as if I'm listening to "Art Bell" on the radio while driving across Texas late at night.....

what about just a chain blocking your driveway until the land sales? if they dont think their doing any thing wrong they have no reason to run.

the land is 5 acre lots, private roads out in the country. they have no right in my mind to be taking pictures of my land, my private possessions. there is only one lot listed for sale that is on my easement for the drive, and the chain/gate idea would only work if the lady wanting to sell would agree to it. hell there isn't even a sign for that lot at the main road anymore. this is partly why i believe the majority are watching my place.

perhaps i grew up different in these times. i believe a persons life, home, everything on their private property is almost sacred. you can drive by and notice it, but taking pictures for whatever reason, thats on the far side of the blurry line. sitting for 20-30 mins and watching until i get tired of it is too much too.

I would call the law and have them to come out at times to sit and wait. Or, video them and take it to the police station and let them look at it and see what they think. But if it's private land, and they are coming on it, you can have them arrested. Now, stopping and taking pictures of you place is a whole new story in my book. You might have a problem on your hands if the land for sale is sold. Time to set out some traps.

I don't see the issue unless you're trying to hide something. If it out in plain site, then
you can't complain. Put the toys in the garage and plant some tree's.

i wouldn't like having people sitting out in front of my house for half an hour just watching, they obviously aren't doing something they should be. i would just block them in and confront them if possible. there is no reason they should ever run off if what there doing is legal

hard to hide 11 vehicles, 3 trailers, 2 campers and a boat. i like my things to stay mine, now do you understand? its why i live in the country.

i'd plant trees if they didnt require so much water out here. its like california where i am, things dont grow unless its sage.
