2 Things:

Got caught goning 58 klicks through a school zone (30 klicks) right next to my place at luchtime: stupid, stupid, stupid!!! Not thinking of anything else than getting food into my belly. To top it off, my wife drove by as I was stopped! To top that off, it was on my BIRTHDAY!!! So all my birthday money went to paying off a ticket that I was planning for a new brush guard!

2nd: I read all that posts about it here, I knew it was probably not going to work, but I did it anyways!! I wasted over $200 (including installation) on those #$$%^& throttle body spacers! What a piece of garbage! The salesguy talked me into it! Absolutley no change whatsoever in performance, and it just whistles. I can't say I didn't know any better! Another pile of money I could have used on other stuff, like an electric fan or hedders!!

I was helping my grandmother move, and to eliminate a bunch of steps (not to mention lifting) I decided I would pull the truck into her yard and back up to a little brick retaining wall. That way, I could just drop the tailgate to be at roughly the same level as the driveway for loading the washer and dryer, etc. All was going well until I decided that I could get just a little bit closer to the wall, and CRASH! I pull forward a little bit and I'm thinking, "Great, wonder how much that new bumper is going to cost" as I jump out of the truck to go check out my damage. When I got to the back, there was a pleasant surprise waiting for me: I had left my hitch draw bar and ball in the receiver, since I thought I would be using my trailer for the move, so the bumper was saved! Total damage: scratched paint on the draw bar, and four broken bricks in the wall!

When I was like 8 or 9 years old my dad baught a brand new bronco 2 and after about 3 weeks put 7 inches of lift with 33's. Needless to say the truck was TALL!! So the very next day when he's dropping me off at school I say good bye and turn to get out. Forgetting about the lift I go to jump out like before and my legs swing right under the truck and I fall face 1st into the black top. Books and papers everywhere I jump up and say"oops, I forgot about the liftt". We still laugh about that one.

And if that wasn't enough, I did it again 2 minutes later turning right onto the road down to Thrifty parking. I was hauling tail so fast that the Thrifty valet parking guy threatened to get out and walk back to where I picked him up. Right about then I calmed down and drove decently.
End of story, I got there 20 minutes before my flight left (made the 1 1/2 hour trip in 45 minutes--don't ask speeds )but was in line for ten minutes so I ended up missing the flight after all. Northwest sent me down one counter to America West and I got a direct flight that got to Phoenix faster than the one I missed.
Moral---first and last time I EVER do anything like that in my truck again. LOL!(Who thought you could powerslide a 4x4)

Let me get in on the action. June 11th, 1998(3 months after getting my truck) some friends and I go to Cinci. for my birthday. We were going to King's Island but it ended up raining like hell. We decided to go find some gambling boats, but no luck finding them. So, we go to a mall in downtown Cinci. and do some shopping. Now keep in mind my birthday is shot all to hell at this point and I am beside myself. We go to leave the mall and as I am backing out of the spot in the parking garage, I hit and scrape the left side if my bed against a cement pillar....approx. 2 feet worth of DEEP scratches. Luckily my father is a body man of 30 years and you can't tell it ever happened. I never felt so stupid in my life and I still get the business for that one from my now wife.

Ok, I forgot about this one, guess I didn't want to remember how I f#@ked up. Here's what happened. About a month ago my girlfriend and I went to the movies, after watching the moivie we were heading to a friedns house to party. Well, I was going up one of the side lanes int the parking lot leading to the main parking lot road that takes you make to the highway. Well, at the end of the road a friend of mine sees us and stops to back up and pull into a space in the lot to park. Well as he is doing this I throw mine up into reverse and quickly glance back in my mirror, about as soon as I did that I heard a horn from behind me a felt a moderate thud, now I am thinking "what I didn't even see a car behind me" but that thought quickley changes to "ok how much damage did I do to this car and more importantly to my truck". Thank god nothing happened to the ladies car (or at least I guess not, haven't heard anything) but it sure broke my hitch cover all to h*ll. She said it knocked them back back a good little ways, to me it felt like I had hit a speed bump. I think I might need the back up sensor off one of the high end Exp. or luxury car.

On March 31st me and a bunch of others from Washington had a dyno day. After we were done some of us went to Red Robin. Since this was in Seattle I had to go back to Spokane. I ask for directions to the interstate so I can go back. I get kinda lost and get a little peeved. I see this parking lot so I decided to turn around there. It was raining so the roads were slick. I get into the parking lot and I decide to floor it and turn the wheel. Doing that I start sliding sideways. There was nothing else around so I wasn't worried about hitting anything.

Ran over a rice burner avoiding some stupid pedestrians who walked out in front of me and a girl not watching the road in her SUV behind me.

In hindsight I should have let her rearend me and let her insurance handle it... oh well, what's done is done.

This one just happened last week!
Driving home from Attica Indiana (about an hour outside of Indianapolis) throught o Denver (LONG drive, especially if going non-stop). Anyways, about 2 am I am just west of Frisco Colorado (about 50-100 miles west of the colorado border) and its snowing like crazy, icy as hell. I'm tired as hell and I've been trying to find a hotel for some time now but with no luck. Well I'm so tired I'm about having to hold my eyes open with toothpicks... finally get to a rest area despite all the ditches littered with cars and jacknifed cemis, only to find that the entrance of the rest area was blocked by a cemi! well me being so dang tired and impatient I just figure "I'll just drive up around him on the curb" and didn't see the 3 foot pole there which was planted firmly just ot keep people from driving around ont he curb like I was trying to do. I heard a thump thump WHACK thump thump but I was so tired I didn't even think much about it... pulled into the spot and crawled in back and thought "I think I hit something"... heart raced for a little while, then I fell asleep for about an hour (and it was cold so it wasn't an enjoyable sleep). Finally couldn't sleep any more because of the noise allt he cemis were makign, and my eyes had got enough rest to get me back on the road, at least to the next rest area... so I get out to inspect the damage, aww dangit, it's got a big long scratch the whole length of the vehicle... not everywhere on the vehicle but at least some on every panel... up to about a foot and a half wide in some spots...

The good news out of all of this? It's giving me a good excuse to look into some custom paint work, like repainting my island blue truck to my favorite color, midnight blue (why the hell doesn't ford offer that color anymore?). It'd probably cost a few hundred to get it back to stock but then there's me "while the paint is mixed up better get that ram air hood and some flares and paint them to match... then might as well paint the PIAA airdam as well... and while I'm painting half of it, might as well paint all of it with a color I really like!

This happended in my origional truck. I live pretty close to some rail road tracks that have a very steep grade to them. One day I got very stupied and got the idea to try to jump them. I got a good running start and hit the tracks at about 60-65MPH! Needless to say I got some major air time.A friend who was on the other side waiting for me to come across said I must have gone up to 3-4 feet into the air. Not too sure if this is what caused it but about a month later I found out my front end need an anlignment very badley. Since then I have never jumped another one of my trucks.

is that stupied enough?

Sorry, I know this thread is several months old, but when I ran across it I recalled something stupid I had done many years ago in a Ford Pinto. Yes, Ford Pinto. A coworker had a 1971 Pinto, with a 2.3 engine and no A/C for sale. Needless to say, this was one hot Pinto. NOT!!! Nevertheless, I burned rubber between every red light in downtown Jackson, MS, and proceded to check out the emergency hand brake while running about 40 MPH. It was obviously out of adjustment, because when the car stopped spinning I had done a complete 180, and was sitting in the opposite lane headed in the other direction. No more hot Pinto's for me. Actually, this was one of the few times I didn't get a ticket during my teen years for doing something stupid in a car.

I seem to have a problem with my garage. Once, pulling out, my wife starts asking me something and I absentmindedly hit the garage door button while letting the truck roll out and trying to concentrate on what my wife was saying at the same time. The door cleared the bedrails which would have stopped and reversed it but I was out just enough for it to scrape down the tailgate and hit the bumper. That reversed the door for another scraping trip back up the tailgate.
A few weeks later we're coming in from the grocery store. It's starting to rain so I'm hurrying everyone to get the groceries out and into the house. Trucks unloaded, let's get her into the garage. My garage will only hold the truck with the back bumper squarely against the wall but I've done this a zillion times and I KNOW when the wall is coming up. Anyway I'm almost there and BAM! What the F! I pull back out into the now pouring rain and get out to look. I forgot to shut the tailgate!. No damage but it scared the crap out of the dogs.
