I can not believe what is happening here in Cincinnati! The mayor has just issued a state of emergency and is calling in the national guard! There is also a curfew from 8:00pm to 6:00am. Can't go anywhere except to work! Don't these hoodlums know that they aren't helping anything!

What's goin' on?

 

Some cops shot and killed an unarmed black male. He was running down a dark alley and then supposedly reached into his waist as if pulling out something than the cop shot him.

Race relations have not been good in Cincinnati for along time. The media has been playing up that 15 black men have died at the hands of Cincinnati police in the last 5 years. They fail to mention the two police officers that were killed a couple of years ago while making an arrest. In every instance the suspects were uncooperative and resisted arrest. The suspect that died this week had 14 outstanding warrants and ran from the police. I am not saying that the officer was justified in this shooting, but there are instances when he feels threatened and has to shoot.

The riots will only make matters worse. It they are going to resort to violence and arsen it will only drive away businesses and jobs in the downtown area, which is already a problem.

Oh well maybe the idiot politicians in Cincinnati will now realize that they are not going to get the 2012 Olympics.

You guys are so right! The only ones out there causing havoc are the teens looking to get some new stuff! They quoted one black teen saying "Every time you kill one of us we going to hit your pocketbooks!" Now how in the hell is that going to help things? How is this protesting?

 

These idiots are so dense they can't even comprehend that fact they're destroying and looting businesses in their own community! Their own people! You think these shops are going to open back up? Unfortunately for any group of people who think that they are a different "race" because of their skin color (we're all homo sapians anyway) a few choice words from anyone stirrs the "mob mentality" for as you say "a fight against the power". argh... we get some of that too in Denver and I'm sure it's all over the nation as well. Heres a few things I've learned. Please don't take these as notes of racism because I areally am not racist, I just hate racism of any kind, against whites or against blacks or hispanics or jews or muslims or whatever...

Any time a black person is shot by a cop, it's racially motivated, and he was killed by "whitey", always.
Any time a white person is shot by a cop, he had it coming because he was a criminal.
Any time a black person doesn't get a job, its because teh employer is racist.
Any time a white person doesn't get a job, its because he was unqualified.

There are many blacks (typically the more educated ones) who believe that racism exists in their communities and it is wrong. The less educated typically believe that it exists by everyone against them. The professor that sits in for Rush Limbaugh sometimes is quite educated, is black, and gets extremely pissed be black people everyday. He had many black people tell him along his life "you don't need to try so hard, your black... you'll get it even if you don't deserve it!" to me thats a bunch of bull and he agrees. He feels that the blacks are just as racist now as white people were 100-200 years ago, and its driving them further and further down rather then ahead. These are the people that hate Jessy Jackson because he promotes racism rather then anti-racism. Kids are told not to hate each other based on race, but the first time they get turned down for a job or a contract because a less-qualified minority underbid him or had to be awarded the control to fulfill equal opportunity employment laws, they will hate them as well.
The Schoels of the world don't help either (Isaiah Schoels was killed at Columbine... I met him once, he was a great kid) but his parent's are racist a$$e$. They sued for $250 million, suing swat teams, police departments, school boards, principals, teachers, janitors, everyone they could think of. They even went on to say that the white teacher who had called 911 from inside the library was a "huge disappointment" because she survived while the black students, in there words she should have "been like a mother duck, and died for her ducklings" (Isaiah was the only black student killed), and feeling that black students were being singled out for murder. They are the reason blacks get a bad name.
They have their own awards show, there own organizations, hell there own laws to make sure they get jobs when majorities (white males) do not. Even here in Denver, there are different clubs that police officers can join, african american clubs, hispanic clubs, asian clubs, each of these are exclusive to people of their race. But the second a white officer tried to start a white only organization he was labeled as a "KKK Leader" and wanting to "bring the black man down with his whites only organization", thats just way out of control!

I'm sorry your people were enslaved 200 years ago, but neither me or anyone I know had ancestors with slaves, so don't feel like I owe you a damn dime. I also don't feel like I owe you a damn dime because theres more of me then there are of you. Hell if I were to travel to AFrica I'd me the minority... think I'd be asking for special treatment because of it?

Whatever happened to peaceful protest? The criminals find any excuse to riot and loot. It's sad.

 

Some people are just looking for an excuse to say, "Break that window. It's time to go shopping!"

Lock up your house and truck and keep your shotgun handy.

 

It's ridiculous, the way their acting. You,re right, most just want to act like a$$es and break things. Others involved are so idiotic and drowning in "fight the power" rhetoric, they think this is the appropriate way to handle the situation. Makes my skin crawl. This punk that got shot was no upstanding citizen either. It's not like a choir boy was butchered. This low life already had 14+ outstanding arrest warrants and only a teenager. He obviously was a member of society that had nothing to offer and was a financial drain on the city. Maybe kids will think twice about committing crimes and running from the cops.

It seems as if things are starting to calm down now. We will see though, the funeral is tommorrow (Sat) and emotions may run high. Curfew is again tonight and possibly through out the weekend.

I don't remember a lot of "riots" happening in Texas. The adage is "One Ranger, one riot" because, well, they don't treat them with kid gloves.

I don't buy "police brutality" in these matters either. You wanna mob? Fine.....I wanna pull out my Intertech and hose you down while you're rioting. The reason? Dead people don't riot. The moment you start rioting, I believe you lose all credibility and should lose your "civil rights" due to the fact that you AREN'T being civil. You're being a criminal and criminal acts should be met with the severest form of punishment possible.

I agree with Matt wholeheartedly. "Minorities" (which outnumber caucasian folks damn near 50:1) are often the first to riot, destroy their OWN property, bitch about police brutality, bitch about the fact that their homes where destroyed in their rioting and then FURTHER bitch when the government won't give them money to rebuild! Jesu Christi talk about hypocrisy to the nines!
