Right, but someone pointed out they were F100s not F150s.

Pretty sure you can get them on anything. The 250 I'm looking at getting has the Ranger package.

I posted this in the 2004-2008 for a reason. I was wondering about just that body style...

Well, I THOUGHT I had seen an F150 Ranger, but figured the other info must be correct. I bet it gets cleared up soon.

I drove a F250 ranger this summer in montana. It was a 74 or 76 model. Single cab, 4x4, 4speed, long bed. Converted it to propane.

Ford actually started using F-150 in 1975 to replace the F-100. Here's some useless info

1980 and 1981, there was:

* Custom- Base model with manual locks/windows, vinyl seat, and black rubber floor mat.
* Ranger- Intermediate trim that added a color-keyed floor mat, extra chrome, and woodtone dash trim.
* Ranger XLT- A step up from the Ranger that added better seat trim, a color-keyed headliner, color-keyed carpeting, aluminum tailgate trim and optional power windows/locks.
* Ranger Lariat- a step above the XLT that added a plusher interior.

For 1982-1986:

* Base - basically the same as the Custom of the previous years.
* XL - replaced the intermediate Ranger trim for 1982 as the Ranger name would be used for Ford's new compact truck.
* XLS- a new trim level that featured a blacked-out grille, bumpers, headlight bezels, and windshield trim. It also featured a stripe graphics package and black and silver dash trim. Available exterior colors were red, silver, and black.
* XLT Lariat- featured floor carpeting, color-keyed headliner, a standard chrome grille, and optional power windows/door locks. In 1985 the tailgate trim was changed to a "flat" full width aluminum with a red "reflector" towards the bottom with chrome FORD letters.

The Nite was one of my favorites, My uncle got one brand new in 91 and drove it to the ground!

No. "Highboy" has been established as indicating the 67-77 1/2 F-250s. You'll notice then I try to use the term "highboy" in quotes. This is because Ford never made such a thing. Ford doesn't call them "highboy's". This name was made up by the general public.

Right on! My friend had a 77 F-250 High boy. It has the useless 8 lug 44 up front!!! It does sit awful pretty though. I think it had 3 inch blocks in the rear stock....The same kid also had a 79 Ranger XLT custom with a milk crate for the seat and a shoestring tied to a wrench for throttle.

The Northland Edition. I think it just came with a plug, so you could plug it in at night in the winter so it would start in the morning.

Cool, thanks for the info. I've never seen one before, just herd people talk about them.
