it doesn't matter if it is $1.75 or $1.40 what matters is how much it increased. It hasn't been that long since gas was going for less than $1.00/gal. if it goes from $.90 to $1.40 that is still the 50 cents you were talking about which is still $700 a year.

Filled up today at $1.59, the cheapest place around for 87 octane. Most places are $1.69 - $1.79 a gallon. The other day I was running on fumes, conveniently the place I stopped at only has mid-grade at $1.89 a gallon. Just on the news last night, summer it's going way up.

I remember those Calif prices, they were way high a long time before anyone else.

I was fortunate when I was stationed in Europe because we could buy fuel coupons discounted at ESSO's and I think HESS. Came out to about $1.20 a gallon, never would have been able to afford it the way F150 does it.

The only thing that rots is my paycheck is the same wherever I live. My counterparts living in the cheaper states make their checks go farther, I don't get a cost of living allowance for a high cost area.

Red face

the place in Malaga New jersey last week was 1.23 a gallon, it jumped up in one day to 1.35 a gallon. I am worried about the summer. I hinted to my wife about getting a motorcycle for the summer to try to save on gas ( and to keep miles off the truck) ,she says I want to much.

Less than a month ago I paid $1.18 in southern IN. Eight days ago I posted to this thread that 87 gas went from $1.40 to $1.65 here in the Chicago area. Yesterday it hit $1.80. Premium is now $2.00. At better than a dime a week we should hit $3.00 by July.

A week ago I took a trip to Reno to visit family. I paid for regular unleaded $1.68 here in Oregon, $1.89 in California, and $1.75 in Nevada.

Angry

We have been paying in the $1.20-$1.30 range for a while, but yesterday it jumped .13 at every station around me. I can't believe that is anything but people ripping other people off. Nothing else you buy changes is proce as frequently and drastically as gas. I just don't believe it is all supply and demand. A lot of it must be "let's gouge some traveleres during the Easter Weekend" Not a very Christian way to act at the most important weekend of the year.

Gulp!

Holy stuff! That makes our meek 1.459 Gallon (Reg) and 1.659 (Premium) sure look cheap. No complaints here.

I work at the Exxon refinery here in Baton Rouge, which is the largest refinery in the US. Take it from someone who knows...All oil companies are gouging the hell out of all of us....Last year ExxonMobil recorded record setting profits at at time when they were raising gas prices and blaming it on OPEC output reductions. This latest series of increases have been blamed on "summer demand for fuel". The price of oil has been relatively stable over the past few weeks so there really is no reason to raise fuel prices other than price gouging. Just thought all of you would like to know.
