You got it rock, I try to post something for people to laugh at and they all act like they'd rather watch the special olympics. I posted this on several forums and everyone thought it was hysterical, except here. I think that explains part of the uptight thing.......

And if I really wanted to be an azz, really really wanted to, I could. I don't flaunt anything in life. This was almost completely done after hours (do you really think i'd take the workers comp chance on something like this? if you do, i suggest a refund on your degrees)

Try and bring a little humor into the world, and this is the thanks we get. I hope some of you drink some turpentine and **** on afire.

Yea, theres a real level of intelligence talking. But I forgot, you're degree from nc state makes you the authority on everything. You obviously don't knock dik about professional carwashes. I'm not an engineer, and I don't tell people crap that isn't true about engineering. Its not my field, and paint isn't yours. So until you go educate yourself about it, takes your uneducated opinions and shove them.

It sure felt like I was watching the Special Olympics!

Yeah, that's why you busted this out...

Oooo big man, keep knocking my college, that's the way to hurt my feelings!

Oh by the way, it's your not you're... Kinda hard to take you seriously when discussing intelligence when you make mistakes like that.

knock ***? Is that something you do in your spare time?

I'm going to guess that you couldn't tell me anything about engineering, and that's OK, I don't expect you to, and you don't need to.

I know a little bit about paint... Enough to know that when I take my truck to a carwash I get this...

which requires me to take corrective measures to get back to this...

Are you saying that your carwash doesn't put ANY swirls in paint? If so, hell, I'll invest!

However, you missed my earlier point entirely. If all the car washes on the face of the Earth suddenly disappeared, would it really matter? No.

If all the engineers, pilots, police, garbagemen, school teachers, doctors, welders, riggers, truck drivers, etc etc, suddenly disappeared. would that matter, hell yes!

I think I must have struck a nerve or something to get such a defensive response....

Hey, guys... the bottom line is this -- and anyone that is familiar with automotive paint is going to understand this...

ANY abrasion across a painted surface can cause swirls, scratches, etc. I don't care if it's Billy Bob the lot monkey at the local used car superstore or if it's Juan Pedro at the local Jaguar dealership who is ultra-versed in automotive care.

NO one here should act as though they are a conceited zealot and a knowledge master of all good of the good. None of us are...

So, let's get beyond the absolute STUPIDITY and MORONIC behavior that a couple of you have shown within this thread and let's all move on before someone has to spend a few days off of the site. I don't mind an occasional jab and even someone stressing their opinion in an off-color way on rare occasion but, this is just getting really stupid. The next thing you know, someone's going to be telling the other that their daddy can beat of the other guys' daddy.

True that. As I said, "I know a little bit" about paint and the vast majority of it I learned from you RP, and the other gurus in C&D.

Wasn't this thread originally about celebrating absolute stupidity and moronic behavior?

First, rock these aren't pot shots, however if you feel the need to toss me a few days, I understand.

Being someone who lived in raleigh NC for 10 years, I happen to know a little about the local educational facilities. There's Duke University, UNC Chapel hill, Meredith (for girls), and a few more. NC State is where just about anyone can get in who can pay the tab.....the others are where the highly educated people who become dr's, lawyers, and basketball players come from....and female soccer players at UNC. (yes it was a fact for quite some time that the UNC womens soccer team would win a national championship every year, almost as certain as death and taxes) That being said, I think you can guess I know my NC colleges. I had two cousins graduate from State, one was a wrestler and the other opened her own company and has made quite alot of money. More power to them both. Beyond that, someone calls me out on the fact that I work for my parents and acts like its a cake job, sure I'll throw pot shots at them......yes I make over 100k a year, and no most likely the person who knocking it doesn't, I made a point of it. It wasn't bragging, it was saying I do what I do because I was asked to, I'm good at it, and I make sure the company makes enough to compensate me at that level, pretty GD good considering the economy.

And seriously, if the best you can do is pick up a few grammatical errors, then you are really digging deep for a comeback with few results. You can have a couple cronies say pawned all they want, you didn't show or prove anything other than you can read these threads over and over to find stupid mistakes in a forum where I couldn't give a rats azz less about spelling (yes I spelled azz wrong, make sure to point that out for everyone)

And you don't know a single solitary F'ing thing about paint, notice the marks in your paint show a circular pattern in the center of your hood. You, being the overly intelligent engineer, can surely explain how the carwash managed to make such a pattern, being that any decent wash uses mitters that are angles at 45` and maybe a top brush that is working perfectly vertical. Neither of those applications use a method that will leave the marks you show. Those come from particulate matter in the air that rises over YOUR hood during normal driving conditions. But I'm sure you knew that already, it was probably an oversight on your part. That and the angle and lighting conditions of the pictures shown can easily modify the actual condition of the paint, or a simple wax can cover such marks, known as spider webbing in the industry.

If all the carwashes disappeared, maybe your area wouldn't notice, but areas like atlanta that are in a stage 4 drought wouldn't notice very quickly, seeing as its illegal to wash you car at home. Our only options are professional washes, or a $500 fine followed by disconnection of water services for repeat offenders. But I'm sure you knew that too, in your overwhelming knowledge of everything life consists of. (OMG, I ended a sentence with of)

Go on living life like you know it all, it perfection that is granted to those who really know nothing at all

NOW the college degree is showing. A very well worded, and thought out post, with no grammatical errors either.

Hahahahaha, "highly educated people who become doctors, lawyers and basketball players"! Really? Does any one else think that's kinda funny?

I bolded the important word in your statement above... Sounds like you know more about the various college's sports teams than you do their academics... which university did you go to?

Here are some quick facts about NCSU:
# 18th among public university research libraries in North America
# 2nd best value among the nation’s public colleges and universities (Princeton Review)
# 5th in Best Overall University Value among public universities (U.S. News & World Report)
# 12th best value among the nation’s colleges and universities (Kiplinger’s Personal Finance)

And what does UNC's girls soccer team have to do with anything?

Sure, Duke wins alot of basketball games, it also costs $30k+ a year, do those facts automatically make it a good school?

I don't disagree that it's fairly easy to get into State if you want to get a bullplop degree, but getting into the engineering, design or even the business school now is actually fairly difficult. Do some research if you don't believe me.

Then again, I guess they let and joe-blow school have the first university-based nuclear reactor in the world.

That's just my opinion and I stand by it. I never said working for family is a cake job, just that you didn't earn it. I have more respect for someone who goes out and makes it on their own over someone who stands on the shoulders of their parents. I'm sorry if that upsets you.

There are probably alot of people on this forum who make that much, or more, and you rarely see them boasting about it, or throwing in people's faces who make less. I just think that's a very low brow thing to do. Again, just my opinion.

It wasn't the best I could do, it was just easy

Calm down there Sparky, I admitted that I'm no paint guru. I am an amateur at best. I never said you didn't know your business.

Yup, I'm aware of the water restrictions, we had them here in NC as well. People just had dirty cars, life goes on. That's the point I was trying to make, people can live with dirty cars.
