Unhappy Selling my truck

Now I haven't decided to do anything yet, just trying to get some feedback. I owe about $14000 or so on my truck. I ended up losing my job about a month and a half ago. Spring field work is finally starting so I will have some income again (about time!!). So right now I'm about 5 months behind on payments becasue of crap that my old boss pulled on me. As of right now I should have a job back home during the summer (BTW I'm in college and have about 1 yr left), but I would be working for almost 100hrs a week during pea harvest and I would make $4000 to $5000 before taxes if we have a really good season. This would be about enough to get me caught up with my payments and have some extra for future payments. I might (empahsis on might) have a chance at a different job where I would make alot more money this summer. What I'm wondering is if I should sell my truck and pay off the loan, or if I should try and rough it out and see if I can afford to keep it. Basically I'm tired of having to jump through all these hoops just to keep the truck. I'm thinking of doing what eph1fifty did and sell my truck and get an older truck that I can pay off easily and then be able to have fun with it. Another problem that I had was that when I got my F150 I was planning on having my Ranger sold withing 6 months and then I would refinance the loan. Its been about a year now and I haven't even gotten anyone to call about it. Well I'll quit gripin about all my problems now, I just needed to get that off my chest. Its been really bothering me for a while and I'm running out of options. Thanks

I'm right with ya PS. Just don't make the mistake I did and think that when you finally graduate and get a job, you can afford too expensive of a vehicle (dam student loans! ). I'm going down today to talk over a trade for a '92 XL.

I'd recommend not having a 'new' expensive vehicle with payments while going to school. It's only 4 years. Wait until your done and have a good job.

Well I got my truck from my uncle who sold it to me for $3000 less than I'd seen them anywhere else at the time. The insurance company he works for had just bought him a new Excursion and he was trying to find someone to buy his F150 and it looked like too good a deal to pass up. If my old boss hadn't given me so many problems at my old job and screwed me over and if I had been able to get my Ranger sold I wouldn't be anywhere near this predicament.

Hopefuly things will work out so you can keep your truck and finish school. I've been thinking about going back to school to get out of this factory job I have the only plus side is my truck is paid for the down side the 12 hour shifts I work make it so I can't so if I decide to go back I'll have to quit this job and find something that can pay my bills and still have time for school.
