It wouldn't bother me if this site allowed you to post anything, but it doesn't because some people don't like that sort of thing, I respect their wishes to not see that sort of thing on this site because I would want the same respect if I was in their shoes.
some people, do you mean advertisers ??
This site is a business just like your day job.
Some times that gets lost in the "garage atmosphere" of modding trucks, but all the same, it is a business.
I cannot stress that enough, this is not personal opinions driving what some call being a good school boy, and work on what is assigned. Nothing is assigned. Contribution is not required. This site is a business, which has customers ( advertisers in this case ).
Try printing up a 2'x3' version of what you posted here, and put it in the customer facing part of your job, see what happens. Think the owner or president of the company would laugh it off when 2 or 3 customers say they won't be back, and are going to take their business somewhere else ?
Thing to remember, there is no back room to this site, advertisers can see everything. Putting something in a post is not like saying it in the break room after looking over both shoulders.

Considering I own my own business, If I decided to put that sign up and 2 people got pissed and said they won't be back I would probably laugh it off. Yes when I said some people I also meant advertisers, I understand this is a business and you have to keep the people that give you money happy. Just dont forget that the only reason they are giving you money is because we are here for them to advertise to.

If you like driving customers to your competition, that is your business. Most companies would call that a decreasing revenue base. Sure your competition would love it. Give it a test for 12 months, and let us know how it goes.

You are correct, they are advertising to the member base, with a specific set of criteria. Just like TV, some advertisers don't want their product associated with a group of people. Same here, they want to advertise to a specific set of customers.

Quite simple, although it seems to be confusing to some.

I have a unique situation, I sell the supplies to all of my competitors so I make money when they sell something. However, I think you are misunderstanding me, I agree completly with you that their has to be rules and they must be followed. I was not complaining, I was infact saying that I had broken the rules and been punished and I was fine with that because I know that I was in the wrong.

Some mods have an itchy "ban button" finger whereas others use a little discretion, and a small reminder and/or thread removal is all it takes.

Of course, that being said, every scenario is different..
