I personally have lost 28 pounds in the last 3-4 months. Here is exactly what I have done:
NO FAST FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO SODA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GYM 2-4 TIME/WEEK-running 1 mile, and then about 15 minutes on the bike at elevated heart rate...usually about 145 and doing about 5.5 miles. Then I finish off with about 20 minutes of upper or lower body routines on various machines.
GET SOME PYRUVATE! This is a dietary supplement that helps metabolze fats and carbs. The more pure the better. My wife works at 24 Hour Fitness so I have lots of opinions to go from and have kind of picked and choose what I wanted to make me happy. I usually spend 45 mins to 1 hour at the gym also. Just changing your eating habits will make all the difference in the world. Don't eat till you are stuffed, don't do all the snacking in between meals, and if you do, have some fruit. I really hope this helps you out. I have gone from 217 to around 188-190 in a relatively short time.

Sorry. I was away of biz for awhile.
BLUE OX...You don't need to buy all the supplements. They all help. But you can pick and choose as your need (and budget!) dictate. I didn't spend $300/mo. No way close, neighbor. My initial investment was high ($230), but you can find the EAS products other than at EAS.......Like GNC. Consider the program an investment in yourself. I did. It helps. I went from 377 pounds (yes Three hundred seventy seven) in Aug of 99 to 225 in about 9 months, and regularly keep tabs of my maintenance (and use other vitamin supps) to this day. I had ups and downs. I had frustrations. I had setbacks. But I kept at it. Now, I'm slim trim and racy, have the correct level of bulk moooosles, AND I'm 50 years old. I still enjoy my Jim ****el and occassional pizza when I'm chuckin' darts in the local pub with the boys. I feel great, and I know (believe me, I KNOW!!) the problems of overweight and how daggone frustrating it is to shed it. Most of the posts above hit on the important dietary no-no's and I won't elaborate. Just KEEP AT IT and don't worry if you have a setback or two. It's part of the journey. Ya gotta make a new lifestyle! Just think how your lady is going to appreciate what you're doing!! (After I really got into the program, she even copied me). Them young bucks don't have nothin' on the old Sundog! Not now. Lots of luck to anyone trying this. Peace, neighbors!

Sundog,
WOW!!! That is one hell of a loss. I'm sure you feel a whole lot better. After weighing in at around 292 lbs during a business trip in Cleveland, I got real scared. That 300 mark was coming up fast and I was going to blow right by it if I didn’t do something about it. And you did it in 8 months! Congratulations! I will probably be at GNC in the next week or two (out of protein powder) so I’ll check EAS out then. I guess the website scared me a little when it listed starter kits at $300 +. Thanks for the info. It helps to hear this stuff from real people.

Blue Ox: Cleveland on a biz trip! How ironic. That's not only where I was for a few days last week, but it's where I grew up. You won't lose any weight if you're staying too long at the pubs in the Flats, and make sure you order your Corned Beef sandwich "extra lean" at Alfie's on Public Square.
Sundog,
We actually spend most of out time in Independence right off of Rockside. But I have been up at the flats a couple of times. Cool place. Kind of dead when I went though, it was in the winter. Everyone says summer is the best. Made REAL good friends with the Winking Lizard and Quaker Steak and Lube while I was there. The Lizard is a great hangout. I always gain 10 pounds when I go up there. Sadly, I think that was the last trip to Cleveland I will make (for business anyway). Maybe one more trip but I doubt it. Company is slowly folding and I will be getting a new job soon. And I never got to go to the "Hall of Fame." Later, Justin.

Check out this site. http://www.portionpak.com/ You don't need to starve yourself and you don't need to cut out any foods. You just need to get a handle on what and how much you eat and try to balance it. The basic idea of this program is counting carbs/fats/fruits and proteins. You figure out how much you should eat of each it day and you keep track, eventually you can do it without thinking. You over indulge a tad a lunch, just make sure it balances out at the end of the day! You can spend alot of money on supplements programs ect... but it all comes down to controlling yourself. On top of that judging how much you eat can be difficult after years of overindulgence, you need to re-educate yourself so you can stop lying to yourself. The material sold on this site just helps educate yourself so you can do whats best for you! I've dropped over 20 pounds without really impacting my life or those around me, just by learning to control what and how much I eat. Its pretty automatic at this point. Best $30-40 I've spent in the last 10 years! They have alot of information on their webpage, explain weight loss and what you can expect read it and see what you think!
Thanks for the replies everyone. It is definitely working. I will approach the 20 lb mark this weekend. So far I have only been at this seriously for about 3 weeks. I expect the rest to come off a little slower. Lot's of exercise is the key for me. That and staying away from the sweets and starches. Lots of protein, fruits and vegetables. I swear I eat like a horse and I am still hungry all the time. Good sign. Gotta go, I have a couple chicken breasts here with my name on them :-) Keep em comin!
