F150freak:
You had the same motor and tranny as I did. I wanted a V8 and 4x4. Wish I still had a manual tranny though. Faster time and better mileage. I got about 18 to 19 mpg for city driving. Now I get 13 . I would like to put the Cobra R tranny in my truck. I want it because it is manual and it's a 6 speed .

Ever since I saw the SCrews in Jan 2000, I've wanted one and this year I made the plunge after running into a Semi-truck & Trailer with my 94 Ford Ranger at 55 MPH(he turned in front of me on the HWY) I survived, the ranger wasn't so lucky

Anyway, I love my new truck, but the still a bit paranoid on the roads now.

Forgot to say, my insurance gave me retail price for the totalled ranger, so I got a lot better deal than if I would have traded, but I don't advise taking this route..

Cool

I traded a 94 Ranger for a used 98 F-150 SuperCab. Found out later that the 98 had a bent frame so I traded it for a 99 F-150 SuperCab at the same dealer, I paid about $1200 more for the 99 with only 532 miles, a lot more stuff, and no bent frame.

I'm trading my 2000 F150 supercab 7700# for a 2001 Supercrew. I like the supercab but I have 2 Grandkids that are in car seats and the extra room of the Screw is just the ticket. Also, I can still tow my M37 Army truck with the 5.4 4x2 (8000 lbs. capacity vs. 8800 lbs for the supercab with 7700# payload package). Speaking of FORD TOUGH, I drug an old Army deuce and a half home with my 97 supercab 4.6, auto. The truck would pull it but we only went 20mph because it sure didn't want to stop it. It took us 2 hours to go 40 miles through the country. The back end of my truck went wherever my buddy steered the deuce.

Don't laugh...

Taraded in an '89 Chev 1500. Bare bones truck, nuthin' in it except auto trans. Was a 4.3. Drove the P*** out of it. 450,000 km before I traded it in (got nothing for it). Thing ran like a dream, nothing broke down on it EVER. Only ever replaced brakes, fuel pump, etc (basic wear components). Dad just purchased a 97, loved it so bought a 98. Dad just upgraded to a 2000 S/Cab 5.4 that goes like stink. Love that. When I'm ready to trade I think I will go the same route.

For the record, My first vehicle was an 86 Ranger that was a POS. Had a 100,00 when everything blew up.

Chevs aren't that bad, they're just not as nice as a Ford.
