It sux the move over law had to even be implemented. Should be common courtesy to ANYONE on side of the road having problems. Seems like alot of time and money that could of been spent else where. That being said, you see someone on side of the road, move the hell over or slow down.

Exhaust ticket sounds like crap, BTW.

I got pulled for speeding in February by a NCSHP. 2 weeks later I joined a new gym and was going there at 5am. The cop that pulled me over goes flying past me on the way then turns into them gym. He has SHP tattooed on his arm.

The move over laws were passed because there is a lack of common sense in our country. Me and every other officer that has ever worked traffic has at least had a close call with getting run over. Ever watch those wildest police video shows? How many times have you seen some moron run into an officer or hit a vehicle. It happens all the time. Obviously if people had enough common sense to move over or slow down the laws would never have even been brought up.

Florida has been known for strictly enforcing their vehicle laws.

I'd like to see them do it for a civilian...

I had a stalling problem in my old Escape one day, and I was pulled over to the side of the road, and a state trooper came up to me, asked me if there was anything wrong, and I said, "Yeah, my SUV keeps stalling... but I think I fixed it..." and he told I shouldn't be there got back in the patrol car and turned around left. I was like... ?????

Very rarely will a cop pull you over specifically for illegal tint or modified exhaust. They wait until they can get you on a moving violation and then they ticket you for everything else.

I know of a guy who is going through the local police academy, and he was telling me that he would never ticket anyone unless they deserved it and had a probable cause or they acted out of line.

Which is why we need more cops like him...

Cops that give out tickets for window tint is just nonsense. They are not doing their job.

Some of these laws were designed as counteracts for major offenses. Like giving a window tint violation instead of a speeding ticket.

Most people would prefer a window ticket violation vs a speeding ticket, for obvious reasons.

As a fireman and paramedic, I've seen the damage that a vehicle can do to the human body. I always move over when a police car, roadside assistance truck, tow truck, etc. is pulled over. Sometimes I have to slow down to let another car pass, but I always get over. On a two-lane road, I slow down considerably and "hug" the center line. If I can, I'll do this whenever I see any vehicle on the side of the road, public service or not. I look at it this way: If I was on the side of the road working an accident, and I am all the time, what would I want you to do? Do the right thing and move over. My $.02.

in the police dept in the town next to mine, they are fix-it ticket ****'s

only 3 tickets i ve ever gotten have been in that town

1. Tints
2. tail light out (my own fault) lol
3. tints

the tint tickets : i was not doing anything wrong besides looking good
luckily a tint ticket is only $50 so i ll let them throw it on my tab

i could understand if committed a moving violation , but for tints come on give me a break.

now i always try to avoid that town lol

C'mon Manual, all these cops are like this when they're fresh out of the academy. Then, after a few years, the corruption takes over and they become just like the rest of them.

Of course, there's always a few good apples that truly want to do the best job they can. They never give in to the power of their badge, those cops I respect.

the true reason for small laws like tint, exhaust noise, and even seat belt werent made fore your protection "like everyone claims"

they were made to add another PROBABLY cause. it offers then the excuss to pull someone over and check for other serious things that they might not have a direct reason for stopping the vehicle.

but anyway MANUAL... i said it protects you and it does but that doesnt mean they will actually pull someone over. Remeber there has to be an officer there to view it to beable to make a stop.

The one "move over" law ive ever seen enforced was by FHP here On the Veterans Expressway, i was working an accident and some clown came by riding the rumble strip. FHP left the scene to make that stop.

and another thing i respect officers greatly, and completely understand the dangers of being STOPPED on the shoulder of the road, how bout some of yall come out with me when we start up replacing RPM's on the Suncoast Parkway. It will give you a new feeling, walking in the travel lane with cars coming by no more than a foot away at 85+ MPH. The only protection is an Intinuator truck a couple hundered feet behind you. This is a 2 lane 2 way highway if we are takin up one lane then theres no "move over" available. This is a moving lane closer theres no cones or baricades just 3 trucks with arrow boards and a white broken line that keeps people OVER...

i see the reasoning behind the move over law, its mainly because a cop got killed in the same situation, and i respect that, but there are times it is damn near impossible to move over or slow down, if your going down I75 at 75mph you just cant get on your brakes, if you do someone not paying attention is gonna smack you.

im not a stranger to the exhaust laws. my probe gt got me pulled over 5 times in like 6 months worth of driving time. its unfortunately a blast to drive, and sounds good so now im gonna sell it. for some very odd reason they leave my truck alone. if they do decide to bother me, i'll start telling them their ordinance is BS anyway, the kennewick one said if they could hear your car from 50 ft they could ticket you... hello? i can hear tires from over 1/2 mile away, cite everyone then.

the move over thing, i dont think its here in WA but yeah, its kinda like courtesy, should do it anyway.
