My dad went to the Chevy house to buy a new car. When he got there, they were unloading new pickups. They cranked up a pickup with the bigger v-8 and it threw 2 rods. The owner of the Chevy house told my dad, "I wouldn't buy a new Chevy right now, their quality has just gone down."
The owner also said, "About 30% of these new trucks are doing this."
Now, I wouldn't believe this, if it was coming from a buddy, but my dad wouldn't lie about it. He isn't partial to any brand of vehicle.
D@mn, that's gotta hurt. I couldn't believe the owner of the place told him not to buy one.

I'm not a Consumers Reports fanatic, but the issue that just came out shows everyone what we've known all along - Chevy and Dodge trucks fall apart, and F-150's have "Above Average" reliability.

That "Above Average" rating is compared to all auto's, not just trucks. Pretty good considering Ford puts more F-150's on the road than any other car/truck/van out there.

 

Coastie...this only proves that there IS a good reason we see so many Ford Trucks on the road...quality!

Yes GM's quality sucks my brother has a 99 Grand Am that he's had for about 2 and a half years and he just went over the 36,000 mile mark a couple months ago but in the first 36,000 he had to have the trans fixed the power windows fixed 3 or 4 times and several other things and I tell him about my FORD quality and how my 96 Mustang GT never went to the shop in 75,000 miles that I put on it before I traded it in for this truck and so far that the truck has stayed out of the shop as well he don't like me braging about my great quality but maybe one day it will get him to come back to FORD he had a 91 Mustang he bought used he drove 7 years before he got the pile of junk he has now that he bought brand new.
