Yeah, so far that's the only case in OH. I know so many people that are sick I just wonder if it can escalate to "BaconFever" or not. I'm not enjoying working w/some of these folks right now especially when I'm stuck in an office.

Yep went yesterday. The results should be back tomorrow. You can determine if your pregnant instantly. But to figure out if you have a potentially deadly disease you have to wait 1-3 business.

Ok, ladies calm down, and read the facts.

So far this year

Swine Flu Deaths - 175

"common" flue deaths - 13,000

Yet, yall don't freak out this bad each winter, when different "common" flu strains begin spreading.

How about plague ? Anyone know how many people die from off shoots and related strains to the infamous "Black Plague" ??? Shoot, just earlier this week, a few squirrels in San Diego tested positive for the bubonic plague. No one is making a huge deal over that, and it is far more deadly. Why ? Why don't you care about that ?

Polio ? How many of yall thought it was an extinct disease ? Look it up. Some advocates here in the states feel we need to start the vaccination process again, to ensure it doesn't spread into the U.S. once more. Polio is a huge problem in places like Nigeria and what not, and yes, all it takes is one host to jump on a plane and come on over here. Most adults would be fine, seeing how that have been vaccinated, but the children could be in for a world of hurt. Far more scary then some mis-named flu (doesn't come from swine).

So, don't get the panties in a bunch. Calm down, and live life as your normally would.

How many healthy, 20-50 year old people will die from Swine flu, HERE in America ? I think it's a safe bet to say 0. Experts say this is relatively a mild strain of flu, compared to tohers already out there.

But the problem is that many people are get the flu shot every year to prevent more deaths. Since the H1N1 does not offer any protection against the swine flu there is the possibilty that many more people can be hit by the H1N1 virus. If that happens many more have the possibility of dieing. If the common flu deaths is 13,000 with the vaccination. How many would it be WITHOUT the vaccination...

Obama's aide that he took with him to Mexico is showing signs of the swine flu supposedly. I'm sure Obama is already in a bubble in contact with nobody.

Are you guys serious...

The only reason this is a pandemic is because of media super-hype. They blew this WAY out of proportion. REGULAR flu kills more people than swine flu.

Here's the score in the U.S. over the past three days:
Swine Flu: 1
Real Flu: 293

Gimme a break.

Here's the difference: "Regular flu" generally targets and kills only the very young and the very old which is why those age groups are urged to get flu shots every year. Swine flu infects mostly people between the ages of 30-50. This is why the WHO is so concerned about it.

That's not true. Everyone regardless of health condition can catch regular flu also. Flu does not discriminate.

If the young adults - middle aged start to die from the swine flu, then your argument won't last. We'll see what happens.

I didn't say it was set in stone. GENERALLY the regular flu affects the young and old mostly because their immune systems are weaker.

Anyone can catch it, those with weakened immune systems are the ones who can possibly suffer complications or even death. The odds are those who die are old or young. That does not mean only the young and old are the only ones who catch flu, and by flu I mean any strain, even swine flu.

We'll have to see how this plays out. I believe you and others here have the right attitude about it.

The only thing I don't understand is how multiple organizations are freaking out and causing so much fuss. Cancelling Church services, closing schools, stores, sporting events, etc. Hype. All that needs to be done is take the normal common sense precautions.
