I'm off to begin my first camping trip!

Maybe camping in the sense that you cannot reach the area by vehicle, but rather by foot (?). I know that's how I used to "camp". Would backpack for a few hours sometimes and then "set up camp".
Heck, there was a few times where we didn't bring a tent, but rather made one out of nature. No cutting of live trees, just using whatever fallen objects to make a lean-to of sorts. Now that's "camping"
Granted, I don't know if I could even stand doing that anymore, although I'm supposed to backpack this summer with another couple for a week, so we'll see.

Leave the kid alone guys, remember back when you were his age.......................ahhhhhhhh the memories, I remember Habibi and I in the ole popup in the far north woods and habibi saying things like "Jim pull it out i have to ****".... and "do what?" Okay i'll do it, and trying to say i lov you with his mouth full.... Then he would hear the moose call and come running!!!!
ahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa,
ahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa,
Your dad has a lot of confidence in you, taking his camper.
I remember the first trip my dad let me take.
Everything fit in a bandana tied up nicely with a stick thru it.
I recall one of my shoes had a hole in it.
He didn't burden me with a bunch of instruction.
Just waved and said, "Don't come back."

what's the difference in how you "camp" VS what Raptor is doing? besides the fact that he's not tearing up the back country
exactly, what's the point of driving to your "campsite" you may as well have an RV and enjoy a private shower, satelite TV and fresh cinamon rolls in the morning

Agreed, a 12 day 56 mile backpacking trek in New Mexico mountains (AKA Philmont Scout Ranch) is true camping

(Ive been out there twice, and would love to go again)
