Cool

KnightS - I would have to agree with Dakota. You are getting a great number of responses here. I myself, drive this baby ...

I have two buddies here in Windsor that have F-150's. One is a '99 Reg Cab, short box with the 5.4L, automatic (Neal "The HP Freak") and the other is a 2000 Supercab, short box 4x4 with the 4.6L, 5 speed (JMC). My truck is listed below. Now we all have different ideas about what to do with our vehicles but they are all of the same concept. i.e. K&N filter, exhaust, superchip, etc. Neal has a Flowmaster setup for his exhaust, JMC has a borla exhaust and I have a Raven muffler with mandrel bent pipes. As you can see, we are all different configurations but we all have the same things to do on our trucks should we wish to do it. We also have friends that drive Jeeps, Mustangs, Rangers and others and we all mix the ideas together. They will work with a little modification to each particular setup. So you see, even if there was a Lightning in the mix, we would all be able to swap ideas for our vehicles regardless of the motor size and drive train. Please don't feel that you can not post any question here because you feel that they are not relevant. There is only one dumb question and that is the question that wasn't asked. If you need to know, then someone else has already been there and is waiting to answer your question. Hope to see more posts from you in the near future.

I drive a 4x2 and find all kinds of info that I can use for my truck as far as mods go if I ever want to do alot of them to my truck and most of the stuff is the same on all of the trucks just different engines trans and cabs for the most part so don't be shy to ask a ? the only dumb ? is one thats never asked as my drill SGT. Use to say way back when I was in basic training.

You won't see too many Lightnings loaded to the gills with mulch or stone or firewood. And you probably won't see them towing campers or pop-ups or Bobcats, maybe a small speedboat. There are plenty of us who use our trucks for... um, well...trucks! And even though my bed is smaller than my last pick-up, and it has 4 full size doors, I've moved two daughters, 2 washers, 3 dryers, 1 fridge, 2 sofas, sand, 3 weeks worth of camping firewood and my pop-up camper!! It may not haul everyday, but I use for what it is, a truck...2wd at that!! So come on in, there is plenty of regular truck people just like you in here!!

Hey, depending on what a 4x2 guy is into, most of the "apperance" mods on a Lightning would apply to ANY F150...

I've also seen plenty of chat about engine mods on regular F150s too since I've been here.

Yeah, you simply won't get much more info handed to you (with very little work on your part) than here.
I quit working on vehicles as they became more complicated, and my jobs left me little time.
Since I bought my Truck, and started reading this board, I have done quite a few things to my Truck. Things that I would never have tried all by myself. Hell, my husband used to get chills everytime he would see the hood up on the Truck, and me with the grinder in the kitchen. But he was always pleased with the results.

KnightS,

Been here almost 2 1/2 years ...... drive a 4 x 2 also. Learned a lot and now I'm the block's resident "F150 expert."

Where else could you post a topic with this title and not be told to "stick it in your ear?"

Hi every body:

I am Arturo from Puebla, Mexico, all I have to say is that this is the greatest Ford truck site.

I have learned a lot of things about my truck here, and most important, reading the message boards I could have chose the exact performance and appearance products that I wanted for my truck.

It would be nice to know if there is another Mexican around here!!!

KnightS, you needn't worry, there's plenty of us non-Lightning and 4WD owners. My truck neither goes as fast as a Lightning, nor goes as far off-road as a 4WD, but it's no less of a Ford. Hang in there, keep posting, and enjoy your truck and this site.
