This reminds me of a war story, actually after war story.

A bud snaped his leg jumpin of a humvee on mission in Iraq, he came back home and i was still processing out so I took the liberty of haulin his **** around.

In Kansas when it rains it pours, and within a matter of hours major flash floods can occur, this of course didn't stop me from going to the AW for a chilli dog after picking my handicaped buddy up. On the way to the chilli dog we got into, well a shiz load of standing water. I had a honda delsol which became a float, when I looked out the window the water was up to almost the door handle. At this time I do believe my handicaped buddy realized it too and commenced to raising hell, shouting "I made it threw Iraq just to come home and die going to get a chilli dog".

Ah what moments, in the end we only moved a few inches from side to side untill i got the front end to catch and backed out but I didn't realize this till the next day there was a car completely under water about 20yds ahead of us.

I guess if Al Gore is correct, then this will be a common theme for all of us at or near sea level in the near future....

Very cool pics indeed.

i think we're about 3" under normal as far as rainfall goes. charleston always floods during bad rains but we really haven't had anything major as far as flooding goes for quite some time. i think the lakes are still low as well.

would be nice to get some decent rain, but not if it's going to be that bad.

I'll find pics of the flood that happened down yonder in my parts. Just last year we were struck hard over night. Drowned the town and everything else. People were evacuated before the platte river went over. And just when I thought that river had enough room to save the town. I mean its bare empty. Was I wrong.

She was steaming! Lets say nearish the door handle above the door line. It was enough.

We're about 24" below normal rainfall since our exceptional drought began in October 2007. Too much or too little, that's usually the way it goes.
