About the only thing I like about the '09's is the fact that they have a true regular cab again -- beyond that the styling of the new truck doesn't do much for me.

i wish you could get an xlt with a moonroof, that's why i won't be ordering a 09 f150. you could have in 08, but now this year not even an option, can get the power slider but no moon.

Give it a year or two. Generally Ford doesn't make certain things available on lower models until a couple years into the run.

EDIT:Just built and priced an XLT and the moon roof is available.

I hate the goofy looking tailgate more than anything. The grill I can live with, but the tailgate has a "plasticy" kinda look with the contours and built in spoiler looking thing at the top.

The new decals (FX4, 4x4, STX, whatever) on the rear quarters look atrocious.

The interior and electronics/entertainment package is outstanding.

I like the '09 overall. Not enough to buy one, but they are the best overall 1/2 ton pickup on the market.

Odd, I built and priced an XLT 4x4 Supercab on the Canadian site and it is available. When I built one on the American site I couldn't find it. Don't understand why Ford would make it available here and not down there. I have a feeling that it's available but only as part of some kind of package.

This one doesn't look half bad

But maybe its just because I'm a fan of lifted trucks. This one could do with out so much chrome and those flares

I love the truck as a whole, only thing I don't care for is the "lip" on the tailgate. And new designs usually grow on me with time, so I think it's only gonna get better for me!

Thanks guys....

Several of you mentioned that they have a nice interior.... and I have to admit, I haven't seen that yet.

Yea'.... those hideous tail lights ! .....and how could you possibly eliminate the fugly silver around the edges, if you were shooting for a blackout theme, like so many others, and myself have ?

The grille..... yea.... its kind of ugly too.... but painted black, I think I could live with it.

Anyway, I've been looking at them for 5 or 6 months now, and at this point, I just don't see myself having any major change of heart.
Sounds like most of you feel the same.

Hmmmm,
Fish

PS, That new blue is really nice, but it would not have worked for me anyway, always pulling a Mossy Oak Shadow Grass boat......

1 nice thing.... although I have not seen one, I've read that my paint, Stone Green, (first introduced in 08') is still available on the 09's..... but then again, I think the new 09's might as well be available in pink ;-) LOL

^^i really like that truck...looks like Toby Keith's (a member posted a thread on here somewhere about how he was putting accessories on his truck and it looked just like that).
EDIT: i think his was a platinum though; that looks like an xlt grille on that black one. still a nice truck, though i can't say i'd prefer it over a lifted '08 model.

Well yea.....

that black, lifted 4x4 09' doesn't look too bad..... because it's > a black, lifted 4x4 < (and because it was almost certainly washed 5 minutes before the photo was taken ;-)

But all else being equal, I still think an 04-08 still looks better......

The headlights ruin it for me. They look horrible. The taillights are bad too.

Yes sir, its because of the stance the lifted 09's carry is why they grow on me. I don't feel as if the power range is as good as the 06 due to the 6spd but Its nice.

I will have one, but if I end up getting a 08 or 07 instead I will be totally just as happy.

Any '09 models that have the BIG chrome grills don't appeal to me at all. The only models I like even slightly are the STX and the FX4, mostly because the grill has the blacked out bars and body colored surround. It just looks better to me. I've test driven a couple '09's and all I can say is I'll be keeping my '04 for quite awhile.

Yes. Between the 6 speed trans and a navigation system which perfectly meets my needs, I'm ready for an 09, and thinking maybe I should have passed up the no-brainier deal I got on the 08.
