Talking Chat is even BIGGER success!

I am THRILLED to say that chat is taking off BIG TIME! Tonight was even better than last night! We had several new members show up & also the good old regulars!
Spirits are running high & we are getting this to work again. I'll be checking it every night to see how it does & if there are better nights/times. So far, 8:30 seems to be the starting time, we average at least 6 people there at a time & it has been a blast! I can't believe the fun we're having!
There have been several requests for Steve, our generous Webmaster to show up so we can show how well this works & to say thanks for not getting rid of chat! I hope he reads this & will consent to showing up some night to see for himself. Steve - you would be pleasantly surprised at how well this is working out!
Well, keep it in mind - Chat is BACK!

No don't do it. I tried that stuff and my number 2's were so hard they shot through the porcelain and to the basement! Causing insomnia to the cat that was downstairs sleeping!

Raoul - you ARE missing out in chat! In fact, people have asked if you've shown up or plan to. May I personally invite you to join in with Chat? We could use your sense of humor, especially when eph isn't there to keep things uproariuosly funny! Any chance you might grace us with your presence & wit? PLEASE? I hope you do show up - tonight at 9:00 PM is our next planned time!

Cowlady (and others), check out the home page of the site ... I added an icon to tell people about the chat. Let me know what you think!

Steve - THANKS! I think it's GREAT! I'm sure that will get attention & bring even more people to Chat now! My only question is when will YOU stop in for a bit? It would be great if you joined us to see how well it's going! Then, maybe, perhaps there might be a chance that you could see that we are using it enough to maybe, perhaps find a way to "fix" chat for us - you know, add emoticons or let us keep our profile so we can enter it once & have it stay or any other fun add ons that we can use! I heard it's expensive but if we use it as much as we have since Sunday (so far every night now!) & some updates would attract more people then it would be cost effective! Right? LOL! All I know is it seems to be a great success - we're really having fun there now. See guys - there are times when a woman can nag & have POSITIVE results! ROFL! Glad my "nagging" paid off!
Hope to see a bunch of you there tonight - maybe even YOU Steve!
Gotta rest up now for tonight's chat! Bye!

Cowlady,

I wish I had more control over the chat functionality. When I purchased the product, the vendor told me that the functionality you are requesting was supposed to be added in 2000. Clearly, it never arrived.

FYI, the reason for replacing the old chat was simple - it was a resource hog! For those familiar with web programming, it was a CGI script written in Perl. And, even though it was the most efficient of its kind (and still is), it drained server resources like you could not believe! Thus, I replaced it with a Java-based chat, which is much more server-friendly.

Steve

P.S. - I doubt you will see me in the chat room in the evenings at least for a few more weeks. I gained a little additional weight over the holiday season and that time is currently spent at the gym. Priorities and all...

Well Steve - if you'd rather follow a boring, repetitive workout than to enjoy some stimulating chat - usually asking why I am called COWlady (do I have spots, am I built like a cow, do I have my own cows, etc.) then by all means I understand. BUT it is a well known & scientifically proven fact that animated talking & hysterical laughing is a far more effective plan for toning up! Why I must have lost AT LEAST 3 ounces this week alone from laughing! I figure that at this rate, I will be a size 1 by 2008! Assuming I don't lose my mind before then! LOL!
Thanks for explaining about the chat program. I may not understand the technical part but I can appreciate the reason for this chat. Maybe they will follow thru & deliver what they promised you soon - after all, 2000 JUST ended & they may have forgotten to check the calendar! ROFL!
See - even here in the Forums I can laugh - you should see how hysterical chat can be!
Bye for now!
