Hey Cowlady, congrats on the chat thing...although...I think I deserve a teeny bit of credit here...I started a post a while back asking why no one used the chat anymore. https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/001277.html

But who cares, as long as people use it.

I couldn't make it last night, but I will try to make it next week. Keep it up guys, and thanks for the icon Steve!!!!

Lariat - yes you do! I really didn't do anything other than "nag" people to show up. I think they did it to keep me quiet! LOL!
Steve also deserves a great deal of credit - as Webmaster he wasted no time in showing his support & even added 2 rooms!
Last night was a phenomenal success - we had 17 people there, many at 1 time! I was there for 4 1/2 hours (okay - so women do have the gift for talk!) & we had a great time. I've been there every night this week & last night was the busiest - the other nights were almost as busy!
I want to say thanks to you, Steve & everyone who has been chatting because without EVERY member it wouldn't work. See you guys in chat! Bye & have a great day! Bye!

I am also glad that the chat is starting to take off. It is a good way to get to know all the people that you see posting on the boards.

It is also fun to see the R/T, and F150World guys show up

So for all that I have chatted with, nice seeing you. If you haven't been there yet logg on and say hi.

Question

Are you folks on every night at approx 8:30, or just a few nights a week?.. I went over there a few times in the past week and was alone (Boo-Hoo). LOL.... Either that or I am definately the computer illiterate that I am told I am!!. I'll be around tonight for a while to see if I can "peek" in. Hope to join in on the quality time and conversation. Snow is good, huh Cowlady??.

Well guys - what can I say? Don C & Ford4Fun - get back to chat! We miss you guys! It really is a blast!
Karrick - I am there EVERY night now around 9:00. Last night, I believe I set a new World's Record (or at least a new F150 Online record) as I was in chat for 9 - count 'em NINE STRAIGHT HOURS! Got there a few minutes before 9:00 PM & logged out at 5:43 AM!!!!! Yes - there were people there the whole time for me to talk to! I have witnesses - JD & sweeteffie were with me till the end! These guys were brave beyond belief - they tolerated my typo's (from exhaustion!) & never once tried to bolt! LOL! I have to thank them - I think they would have stuck it out a bit longer but when I started to see double I figured I had better get some sleep!
Needless to say I will be back there tonight around the same time & I look forward to another great (but SHORTER?) chat! This is unbelieveable! Thanks to Steve for the new icon on the homepage promoting nightly chat! And yes Karrick - snow is good since it keeps me inside chatting & off the roads in 4 wheel drive! ROFL! Bye till later!

Thumbs up

Here are a few tips for using chat so it is easier & more enjoyable!
When you see the window open with the choice of rooms, ckick whichever room you want to chat in or check. It will show who is there.
Next - type your ID in - use the ID you are registered with here. Then in the profile box below, you can type in what truck you have - I usually use " '97 F150 4X4 w/ORP" so that people can see what I have w/o always having to ask. Profiles are optional BUT when we get 10 or more people there at 1 time it helps remind you what someone is driving. Believe me, after awhile you forget who has what! I know I do!
Whatever you do, be careful about trying to open a new window. Sometimes it works for me, other times I get disconnected. On a dial up connection it seems to take forever to log back in!
I haven't tried it yet but if you look at the top of the chat window, you will see different Options. Click on web touring - I read it will enable links to be clickable I think. Then if someone lists a page for you to check you should be able to click the link & get there. I'm going to give it a try tonight. IF I remember! LOL!
Talk to you later! Bye!

Thanks eph1fifty! I appreciate your concern - I admit I was exhausted after 9 HOURS of chatting! Even I didn't think I could talk THAT much! LOL!
I look forward to seeing you guys tonight - I MAY be a little late. I should be there by 9:30 the very latest - I have to serve as usher at Mass tonight. But I WILL be there, fit as a fiddle missing it's strings & WAY out of tune! LOL!
BTW - we now have to use our ID's to log into chat - a great idea which will protect us. It's something new which I just saw today for the first time. Anyhow, check the new icon out on the homepage, then log into chat & I'll see you all later! Bye!

THE NEW LOGG IN PROCEDURE FOR THE CHAT ROOM IS A PAIN IN THE BUTT, AND IN MY OPINION UN NESSISARY. I WAS EXCITED ABOUT THE CHAT ROOMS, BUT WITH THE NEW LOGG IN PROCEDURE, I GUESS I WON'T BE GOING THERE ANYMORE.

Typing 2 words is a "pain in the butt?"

Sorry you feel that way, but in order to cut down on my administrative time, this is necessary and will remain. It will eventually get to the point that you only enter your username/password once and the chat server will automatically log you in with that screen name.

Don - it really is a good idea only because it will eventually stop people from using false ID's to get into chat. I have encountered a few problems with that already & it could get out of hand.
I really hope you re-think this & come back! We miss you in Chat. It's always fun when you're there! Please don't let this stop you from joining in. Please?

Tonight, 9:00 or so...I should be there. I hope we have a record breaking turn out. I may just pop in for a minute or 2, have some computer issues I have to fix. See you all then.

The login thing is great! Typing your username and pass at login isn't a pain. The (very little) extra effort is worth it because we have a pretty good gang here to chat to!

Oh well I bypassed it until Steve put in a redirect on the chat page LOL. Steve, does your script read the UBB cookies set on our systems?

I'm sure it is all being worked on people so be patient people.
