Question new guy needs help

OK I need some help - I am going to take a big step in my life and sell my stang, I want to purchase a truck but need some help understanding the different models Ford made.
I know that I want a 97 - 99 regular cab 2wd with a short narrow box (flairside?), v8 and auto. I have been looking at trucks in the used car lots to help me determine what I need to look for. I looked at one truck that said "sport" and one that said "STX" on the rear of the box, I liked these trucks because the bumpers were color keyed to the body - not chrome. What is a sport and a stx, where do i find more information on what models were available. I am having some troubles finding regular cab short boxes - am I looking for something that is hard to find? Any and all help would be appriciated.

Well to answer your question the sport and stx are the same thing the stx is what the sport package was called on the 97 and 98 trucks and in 99 and beyond its called sport. Well I gave up my stang in November of 99 when I bought my truck its not as fast as a stang but I sure have gotten away with speeding in this truck where if I was still in my stang I would have been seeing blue lights to many times. The main reson I got it was for the lower insurance.

Hi Mike, go to this site:

http://www.autovantage.com/

On Number One Select 'Used Cars'

then just plug in the the 'drop downs' for the year, make and model.

They don't have all vehicles but, they do have all the late model F150's.

(Others could use this to reminisce about their old 97-01 F150s, it has write ups for that year with new features and the specs. Plus Options, MSRP and Invoice price.)
