Post 2000? 2001?

OK, I got the loan... and this week, I got the X-plan pin number... now I just! gotta! get! the! truck..!

I'm looking for an XLT 2WD Supercab Styleside Shortbed. Shoot, maybe an XL, depending on prices... I know there are still some 2000s out there, with some good deals (according to the newspaper ads). Price wise, these 2000s look a lot easier on the budget... are there any major (heck, minor) reasons I should opt for the 2001 instead? I've done research on this purchase until my eyes have glazed over (it's a girl thing), but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I spend a lot of money on a vehicle that's gonna be mine for the next 10/12 years...

Thanks for any advice!

Good Pups:

I've started looking--again. The only real new item I can see are the seats on SOME of the 2001's have the new "sport-style" (my name for it) split-bench seats standard on the XLT's. That seat has the seat belt "integrated" into the seat back.

Today I saw the first "sport-style" captain chairs!!!

power drivers on the new split bench seems pretty rare so far, have only seen one. Mostly seen it on supercrews.

the other is an option, the power adj pedals now avail on the 2001's.

Other than the seat, I'd easily take a new 2000 over a 2001 for the price. 2000 left-overs getting hard to locate at least around here.

good luck!

Well if you want the 4.6 V8 then go with the 2001 as it has a few extra horses under the hood.
